I think I spelled that wrong I think it is really My Joe Ann. It has been around here several years and I tell ya, it has never been any more than 1 bulb. I think I got it from a friend, who got it from a friend, who got it at a society bulb sale. The sales you have to be present for to get them. I thought maybe it was a hartle-Gillman gem or maybe a Canadian bred beauty. It begs for pollen....so it got some. I moved it last year, because it was in a wetter spot and I thought it needed new neighbors ;) and better drainage. Maybe now it will get busy and multiply.

And I feel like my camera is taking terrible pictures this year. Maybe it's just me, but the quality looks crummy.

Thanks for the nice comments. You guys are great. And you know I am glued here to see what is opening next for you all.

And 'Eurydike' vs. 'Eurydice', well...I always thought they were different because the two I have are different, which means one of them is wrong, right? Go figure, some more lilies that are the wrong one. In this case, I don't mind so much, because they are both pretty. Unlike the 3 white 'Pink Latvia' lilies I got. Have I ever mentioned that plain white lilies are fine, if that's what you wanted, but not so fine when you were dreaming of speckled pink? Grumbling Not even one of them was pink.

Jo Ann, I bought 'Rosella's Dream', and it isn't blooming yet. We'll have to compare when it does.

Rosella's Dream is reputed to be fertile, probably with 4n pollen. Just lettin' you know mags...

Yes, Eurydike = Eurydice. Eurydike is the Greek spelling that Vaclav Jost registered it under and the Lily Nook sells it as such. The Lily Garden sells it as Eurydice which, according to my Websters, is the Latin form from Greek. The name is from Greek mythology. More than anyone ever wanted to know Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

I figure My Joe Ann must be from Canada it is obviously not Dutch.

It's strange ...all of this because I think I often say the names of lilies (and peonies for that matter) wrong. You see, when I said it the Lily Garden spelling way I said the c in Eurydice, the way you say dice. So when I had Eurydike, I said the end part to rhyme with bike.....and since my two aren't the same (figures, doesn't it?) the way the two are spoken in my mind, I was truly clueless as to the two of them being the same. More than you wanted to know, huh? Hilarious!

The information on 'Rosella's Dream' came from the PNWLS and my email interview with Warren Smiling Apparently, much of his work, including 'Trogen' is 4n.

Thought for today:
You know you are a lily addict when your 12 year old daughter comes out into the garden and tells you, "It's pollen season".

My 24 year old son wanted to know what all that 'yellow stuff' was on me when I came in from the garden. I didn't realize that I had it all down one arm. So funny, Tracey, lol!

Bev, wasting all that pollen! I usually have it on my nose for who knows how long, until someone kindly mentions it.
