Good news here is that the Salmon Star I started for my sister's wedding are blooming! And we should have plenty for the bouquets. We overbought and started different ones at different times based on the time to bloom (90-100 days). Wouldn't you know that mine took 95 days and the 100 day ones will bloom next week, too late. But we have plenty...now to transport them to a 4 hour away location. I am thinking we will all have Salmon Star infused hair!

Tracey, great job. And Salmon Star is wonderful for a wedding. When my daughter got married here we planted tons of lilies, and they hadn't opened, so Russ went around and popped a bunch of them open. So special to have your lilies at your sisters wedding. Now enjoy it!

A Lily "trellis" for the Morning Glories .LOL.

Lily trellis is a hoot.
I will probably end up with one too.I planted MG Grandpa Ott last year and didnt teardown the vines in time. I had no idea they were so prolific. I yank em when I spot em since May. I cant get to places in the lily beds where I see them half way up the stalk.

I'll say.I was worried about color clashes but Otts dont bloom until next month.Lilies will be gone.

I haven't cut them yet...and because I hate chopping lilies, it will be hard for me These will get this wedding for a life and that's it...that's why I love the garden ones so much...they usually last for years and years.

Now let's hope they make the trip! Thanks for your well wishes. It was quite a project and a pure miracle to have anything in bloom at the right time. I will let out a BIG sigh tomorrow afternoon, so be in your gardens...and wherever you are, I'm sure you will hear me.

The one thing I will say about Salmon Star as a cut flower, is that they way they arrange themselves on a stem is not the perfect cutflower florist type (clustered at top). I'll have to show you some bouquet pictures when we get them. My niece is putting all of it together. I haven't the artist gene

I plant cutting ones every year, and you'll be surprised how many will come back, even cutting the stems long. So, it might not be the end of their life.

I'm sure they will be perfect for the wedding. You would notice things about lilies that others wouldn't.

Everyone has lovely lilies blooming. Tracey the Salmon Star should fill the room with a wonderful smell for the wedding.

Robina is almost as tall as me this year and will get moved this fall. It towers over everything near it.

There is hardly a better lily for a wedding than Salmon Star or similar orientals. As much as I hate to say it, I think it would be a whole lot safer to remove all the anthers, though. Good luck with the transporting and all. Maybe Anthony could have loaned you his get up

It was different in the photo. I thought one more year might change the color.Darken it hopefully.
Not purple enough for me.It looks good with the Greenenvy Echies that reverted.Thats another lesson learned.Wait 10 years before a new introduction has proven itself.I heard talk of this happening. Figured I was touched by gawd and it wouldnt happen here.
