Is it OK to trim Yarrows back early so they wont get so tall?

Yes, early in the spring you can cut yarrow back by about 1/2.

Tracey, the bench in the enlarged Red Alert photo is a tree ring bench. The iron furniture behind the shed is child sized. It is a favorite spot for my little granddaughter. Here is a pix from earlier this spring.

Ohhh, isn't she just adorable!

Now she looks like she really enjoys it out there! A future gardener for certain

This is part of my iris sales garden. I put some lilies in there just to liven it up. But everywhere I have a garden, my granddaughter has one too, so she can work in hers while I'm in mine. If you look to the right, where the white lilies are, that's her row. She planted and maintained that row all herself. Jenna is 9, and she's very proud of her lily garden.

You tell her we said "good job!".
