My Sunsets did too. I wonder if they reseed and the original plant dies and what we are seeing is the seedlings?

Not sure what is going in with the crooked pistol this year. I am guessing it is the heat. The same thing happened for the first time with L. formosanum var. pricei.

I'm thinking it probably isn't "yellow tetraploid" as I don't think that would take. Something else must have snuck in there...

I'm OK with the off colorPurple Prince because it goes with the reverted echies. I did see some Green envies comming deep in the lily row.My dilema is I plantes purple cones in that spot too.
This is a FULL garden so I will never know.

Just a quick note to say the lilies turned out perfect! Salmon Star was a winner. And you bet I removed every single anther on every single lily as it was opening. And I was watching for the unopened lilies to begin to open and was the anther police the whole day. It turned out beautiful, paired with green roses and limonium. I hope to get a picture at a later date

Red Velvet

I planted some Red Velvet last fall. They haven't bloomed yet. Must be late ones. Your sure are pretty Polly.

I try to always dead head my echies before they go to seed Jo Ann. I didn't in front once and have a couple different looking ones growing together there. One with the very downward petals and one more upright. My Hot Lavas so far are staying true, but one of 2 didn't make it through the winter.

Tracey glad the wedding flowers turned out so well. Can't wait to see photos. I hate cutting anters off lilies. It seems to make them look naked, but I understand why it's a good idea.

i brought some'pup art'-'suncrest'-'kissproof 'and good ol' longiflorum bulbs today,..,glad the wedding was successful Tracy,everyone here was 'agasp' when i told them you were using salmon star,.,.[anyone would think they grew on trees]

I try to deadhead too. There is a clump of giant purple cones nearby,maybe seeds drifted or carried by birds ended up in Th SummerSkies and TikiTorches.
