Yuck on the frost. Of course it seems early to me.

Not much of one to enjoy winter anyway.

Last night I was watching on TV a show called "Buying The Yukon". It is pretty much the same as the show Buying Alaska only it is in the way up cold northern part of Canada. The big city up there is Whitehorse. Once you get out of that city it sure is rural. The lady on last nights show was looking for her first home and had to think about things like heating with wood when it gets to 40 below. I would never make it there!

I agree You ain't kidding.

One thing I usually get a kick out of on the Buying Alaska show is that people are always commenting about all the outdoor eating and entertaining they will be doing on the deck. Really? They must love sitting out in the cold and snow as summers sure are short up there.

Here in Arroyo Seco, 3:45 in the afternoon, at 8,000' it is 79 degrees.

It is also 11% humidity.

Rita, Serge and I took a trip up north about 7 years ago, one of the stops was Whitehorse, the city and the area is quite lovely, they do get nice sunny warm weather during the summer months up there, enough time to get out and enjoy their decks I am sure.

I guess they have to enjoy it while they can in the summer. However long it lasts.

Yes, the scenery on these shows is fabulous. I can see why people go there. But again, I would never make it thru a winter!

Ann, we went there in mid June before the skeeters got too bad, although one night we stopped at a campground on a very scenic lake, it was just gorgeous and we thought we would fish it the next day, it was around 4 in the afternoon, we were with 2 other couples, we had to spray the bushes right away and we lit a fire and everything was fine for an hour or so, then they started to show up in droves, nothing would keep them away so we all went in our trailers, we left the next day. The name of the lake was Mosquito Lake. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Sounds like the old Alaska joke: First Mosquito: "Shall we drag them into the woods?" Second Mosquito: "No, if we do, the big ones will get them." Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Normally it's around 60F during the day and 45F at night.
Now it's 49F at the coast (where I live) and 42F inland. They actually had frost and sleet at night! Blinking
