I'm relatively new here.
Last summer, I put a bed of 65 different rhizomes down at our farm in southeast Missouri, thinking it would be pretty, and because my mom and grandma love(d) them, and because a well-known St. Louis irisarian was selling out her garden before she sold her property to the city.....
Anyway, got a bit carried away with my "little interest". It's now bloomed (pardon the pun) into a full-blown pain in my husband's a$$, as I've added about 80 new ones this summer, most of them here at home in St. Louis. It required the building of a great big retaining wall in our back yard. Someone wasn't happy. But I was.
So now, it's sit and wait and twiddle my thumbs until next spring.
I guess I'm just getting started, huh?
Do you think anyone has ever gotten a divorce over irises?
