Over zealous customs agents can be a problem. I had a pack returned to me last year trying to go to Canada because they did not like that I had listed packets of seeds, instead of a number of seeds. One just never knows what challenges will arise.

I actually contacted the inspection agency in Australia due to a thread here and was assured that daylily seeds are not banned and so long as they show no evidence of anything else in the pack should be sent through straight away. That said, if I got burned by losing a bunch I'd probably refuse to ship somewhere as well.

I have received several envelops with seeds from the US and all came through customs ok, except for 1: I had to pay almost €20 in taxes

Reason was (I think) that that specific package had an invoice inside stating the 'worth' of the seeds (what I had paid for them).
Most others state the seeds as gift or don't specify at all.

All in all I had no problems getting them to Europe
As we can't import the DL plants anymore (and who knows how long that will be ), I'm very glad I can at least grow their seedlings

Too funny!

A good motto: keep friends around you who are really off the wall so you can always feel better about yourself.

I remember when I first got started, and my lovely, long suffering wife said that she was beginning to worry about me. When I pointed out to her that this other friend had put seedling lights in all her spare bedrooms and hung her seedlings from the ceiling, suddenly I looked a lot better.

I want a couple of those parents and I can squeeze in two plants a lot easier than I can squeeze in 40 seedlings! The house next door sat vacant for a while, as the owners had moved to California and were trying to sell it. I should have moved the fence while I had the chance!

I just set up 3 racks for 48 seedling trays, and T-5 lighting for them. I have no "worse" friend... Yet...
