It sure does have the great colors going on there, Scott.

Here's an update on my new ones - Ballerina is shooting up a little bit but still not awfully colorful. I'm potting her up soon and moving her to more light.

Elaine, Be careful with to much of our Summer FL sun on 'Ballerina' (AKA 'White Baby Doll') as it will get brown leaf edges. I have found that a few hrs of the in the morning work great during the Summer. It is a fast growing Ti and will need to be cut back every other year. A well known mutation of 'Ballerina' is 'John Klass' (AKA 'Ballerina Grande') (pic) and will show up often.

Rolling on the floor laughing No worries there, Scott. I have a yard full of filtered shade with large oak trees at all 4 corners of the house so the only really good, direct sun is in the middle of the back yard, and that space is all filled up.

John Klass is gorgeous, I'll be very happy if he shows up amongst my Ballerinas. Thanks for letting me know to watch for it.

I'm about to have a whole new area for my Ti to plant. I'm looking forward to planting some of these beautiful varieties.

Thanks Scott and that mutation on Ballerina is pretty special, I too would love that one.

Oh, pretty pretty pretty, Scott! Does that really pale one (second picture) need to be in the shade to make the colors like that?

Elaine, It is in full FL sun still sitting in a gallon pot. It is one of my 3 year old seedlings that did not make the cut to be planted in the ground this June when I planted my new area of the garden. It was not a very nice looking plant until July of this year and started to get its act together. When the weather cools it should show its final colors. I hope it doesn't change but some do the first year of coloring.

Good luck Hetty. Looks better than mine. heh I have 12 seedlings going for months (6 or so I think) now and they are only 1/2 - 1 " tall. Good grief they are slow growing for me. Have them in a semi-shaded greenhouse that I further shade every other day. I figure it is close to zone 9 plus in there.

My first attempt from seed.

David, Do not give up. Good things come for those who wait and wait you will need to do. The faster growing seedlings will show a little promise in about a year most within 2 years and still others 4+.
Photo of 6 month old seedlings...
