Nice choices Dee. I got Pretty Swish as a bonus from a Iris Sisters order this summer. Such pretty ruffles and color.

Still the only bidder on Ghost Writer and French Lilacs. Hoping no one bids against me/goes past my maximum bid. Looking to share them with someone in my area who has extensive Iris gardens and who has lost (at last tally) about 50% of her plantings from rot due to our extreme rains this year. Fingers crossed.

Thank you, Shannon. Found out a little while ago that the local garden didn't lose as much as originally thought and she still has her Ghost Writer. So, if I am outbid, well, it means I received some help in being a bit more responsible with my expenditures for November.

Edited to say: I still want it, though. (So does Rob and I plan to share it with him...oops, that is a surprise--don't anyone tell him!)

I had a rather extravagant day too. Bought another Native American flute. It's a High Spirits limited edition, 25-year anniversary issue -- made of aromatic cedar, wood-burned with swans and decorated with turquoise cabachons, with a swan fetish. It's very beautiful. I didn't need another flute -- I already have two -- but it's too beautiful not to own. Somewhere along the line I'm going to have to fess up to the Hub................wish I knew how to post a picture of it here.

Just took Shadows of night and Safari Sunrise. Man o man you guys are bidding strong on a few(pretty kitty,lunch in madrid). That's it for me. Good luck to all!

Mary Ann, I saw Doc Tate Nevaquaya at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth shortly before he died. Presentation and performance were both stellar. Particularly remember him talking about how one can only play a wooden flute for about 15 minutes before moisture from breath impacts the sound. Have a cassette tape I need to try to get transferred to CD, or get a cassette player. Did the seller have a photograph of it online that one of us can grab and post here for you?


Congratulations, Gabriel. I came so close to bidding on Edge of the World last night. Less than an hour to go and no bids. But someone that I trade with on ATP has it and I am hoping to make a swap for it next year or the year after.

Deb -- I'm not familiar with Doc Tate. Before getting a flute of my own, I was only familiar with Carlos Nakai. Now I know a few more -- but not all. High Spirits Flutes feature Odell Borg (who is not very Native American at all), who is nonetheless a master flute player and flute maker. His flutes are beautiful and easy to play. I have two of his -- well, I will when the Silver Swan gets here.
