Random thought:

Individual swaps could declare "certified organic seed only", or
"the DEFAULT is organic, and if your seeds are not, you have to say 'NOT Organic' in the comment."

For self-collected seeds, it might have to be "pretty organic" or "no pesticides" or "organic enough", because few hobbyists will be certified. Organic.

Will there be a small box at the top of our list so we could have general info like :

All collected seeds from my garden this year(2015) open pollinated . No chemicals (pesticides , herbicides, fungicides, fertilizer ) used in my garden.

Yes, I have been planning to offer the option to add your own personal message to the top of your list. My primary situation is: I'm not exactly sure where to show it.

I can show it on your "primary" list but that may not be looked at by everyone participating. Maybe I can show it there as well as the top of the main swap-specific trade list if they select just your name from the list of players.

Could you create an icon that could be moused over like the question mark in the comment section? Have it show next to the name.

I can't put a mouseover icon in a pulldown list like that.

Not in the drop down, but in the plant list like the question mark for comments.

Great idea, Jay -- I have no idea if it's possible for Dave to do that, but it would be perfect!

No, something about it doesn't seem right from a user interface point of view. I have some ideas, though.

Maybe just a plain click-on link to "Trader's Info"? Old-school. Like, their name itself is the link ... but a link to a small trade-info box, not the entire user profile.

Hopefully people would remember to "CTRL-Click" instead of "Click".

Can we get links back to the Group Seed Swaps forums on our main swap page (and/or the other swap pages)? It might make things a little easier to switch between looking at our lists and looking at the wish list thread, for instance.

This forum is for beta discussions only. I may have a new forum in the future but for now I'm not going to link to this forum from the swap feature.

In case you didn't know, you can add custom links to your nav column over on the left. Do it through your preferences/profile.

@Dave , there's still seems to be an issue with mobile devices and the pavement of field text and results not matching.

I'm aware of those mobile display issues. They aren't limited to this seed swap area but the entire ATP site. It's on my "one of these days get around to it" lists.

I saw a quirk while requesting:

christine00
Marigold (Tagetes erecta 'Spun Gold')

I clicked on the Treasure Chest, didn't look closely at the next screen, but then saw the Treasure Chest had not turned to a green check-mark. Hmm.

Without thinking, I clicked th Treasure Chest again, and it told me that I already called dibs on that item. OK, I must just not have refreshed.

But F5 did nothing! I tried CTRL-F5, and it did reload, but I still saw only the Treasure Chest, no green check.

I was curious, so i clicked again ... and this time it gave me the seeds, AND turned the check-mark green.

Since I don't remember for sure the very first step that went awry, this is not a very good bug report, and since it clearly did the right thing eventually, it's probably not a bug at all.

But the refresh behavior at first was wonky.

And the green check mark did not do what I expected, or at least it behaved differently depending on which iteration I was trying.

The overall behavior was as if my first attempt to call dibs MIGHT have detected that I requested it yesterday, but it DID have a Treasure chest at that time. The next few attempts were strange, but once it let me request the seeds TODAY, it did know that I had dibbsed it today, and turned the Chest to a green check right away (without any refresh).

I'll look into that, Rick, but if you see it again definitely let me know. I want to know if it's a one time thing or if it reoccurs.

I think that's the right degree of seriousness to give it. Just keep your eyes and ears open for irregularities around re-requesting something we already have.

"Hunnh? What just happened?!? ... If it happens again, I'll watch more closely and take notes."

What I expect from the Treasure Chest is that if I get the request, it turns green right away.
That's what I see every time, now that I'm watching for it.
Some things need a refresh to show up, like "tickets remaining".

Maybe my browser just no longer likes "F5" for reloading a page.
