I should say, they will get as many dibbs but won't have the selection because things will be picked over by the time they can select.

Duane, you might have the edge on this feature; since you are offering only one of many of your seeds, they could easily appear to be more desirable than someone who is offering, say 10 of something that is just as fantastic. With ten chances to get that seed, people might not be as eager to call dibbs on them.

I really don't want the edge on this feature, that's why I'm kind of against it.

I don't think there's really a good solution to that. You'll want to be present when the gates open. It's at a fairly convenient time (6:00pm CT, 7:00pm ET.)

In the future I might make an "auto buy" functionality but that won't be in this for this beta.

I will only pick 3 things today no matter how many things are picked from my list. That's what my conscience is telling me.

Maybe the way the bonus dibs are awarded should be the other way around -- less the first day and then increasing each day after that? (Or maybe just a set amount all the time, like .20 per request or something? Or maybe the bonus dibs could just be accumulated but held for several days until everyone has a chance to get some of the "good stuff."

I do think that it's good that someone who is offering a lot of things that other people find desirable gets rewarded for that. It's a great incentive to offer great seeds.

I like the idea of bonus dibbs. It encourages people to list desirable seeds.

It is difficult to be "fair" in a mixed group with experienced gardeners and new gardeners. When I was a novice gardener/seed trader, seeds I thought -were special (like purple morning glories and matching African and French yellow marigolds) were old hat to the experienced gardeners.

I am trying to catch up with the many threads...

From what 'screen' do we do our 'dibbing'? From the list of all items, correct?

I was wondering about that too, Lynne -- can we make our selections from our "wish list" of starred items? (I guess we'll find out pretty soon, even if Dave is too busy right now to answer here!)

Yes, the same exact page where you currently view the items (that shows the wishlist stars and all that) will have a treasure chest icon next to the stars. Click the chest to claim it.

Could someone give a link to the page with the treasure chest?

It is hard to keep track of all the threads. A "sticky" thread with the rules and important links would be helpful.

From the main swap page:

http://garden.org/apps/swap/

Click on the swap name then click on "Access the full tradelist for this swap"

That's the page from which you'll be claiming items starting this evening.

I am still confused. I must be missing something.....

I went to the above link and clicked "check out everyone else's lists"

I -was led to -this list
http://garden.org/apps/swap/sh...

I am confused, because it says " You can NOT use the automatic swap system to trade from this area. "

and I still don't see a treasure chest.

We blondes and non geeks need a little extra help from time to time.....

This page Sandy but you won't be able to see the treasure chest until it starts.

Rolling on the floor laughing I think I'm getting a little too excited right now. I'm scroll, type, refresh page, read, scroll. I need to slow down and take a breath.
