The cross is not in RHS yet. It was just registered by Motes Orchids named for a very good customer and friend. http://www.motesorchids.com/sp...
I purchased the seedling from him this past summer (unregistered). I also have the other cross, which is Pda Arjuna 'Nirvana' HCC/AOS x V. cristata. I will be excited to see the difference in the blooms.
Regarding that nasty weather yesterday, Melissa, I am glad!!
Heh, didn't we have PDAs ca 15 years ago? What was that again, Private Digital Assistant? Yours is certainly a lot prettier!
64 degr F right now here, we are supposed to go up to 72! Looks like Winter temps will arrive next week.
Melissa, your list of names must be more complete than the one I was using: http://www.ravenvision.ca/site.... I went back to check and there is no entry for Pda. I will change and start using your list. Thanks. At any rate, it sure is a pretty flower, I love it.
Beautiful floofers, Ursula. My favorite is the Irene's Circle.
My marathon singing starts tonight at 6:00 PM with practice followed by a 7:00 PM service followed by more practice and some eats at a private home, followed by the big midnight mass which starts at 10:30 PM and will go until the wee hours. The music includes parts of Vivaldi's 'Gloria', Beethoven's 'The Heaven's are Declaring', Bach's 'Sheep May Safely Graze', and Handel's 'O Lord Give Ear' as well as 'The Messiah'. Come 1:00 AM I'll be toast.
To all my friends here, I wish you a safe and peaceful night. Merry Christmas.
Jim

I thought I might wait on taking pictures until the sun comes out, but I am afraid I might have to wait to next year. So, here is some stuff in bloom under less than perfect light conditions.
Another noid Cattleya opens a lot of buds, I had bought it years ago as Bc Mermaid'Janet'.
And miracles do happen once in a blue moon, my Laelia autumnalis var atrorubens is blooming! This one always produces several spikes in the Fall, only to abort most of them.
Dendrobium tetragonum looks good
And there is Phrag schlimii with a repeat bloom, such a small plant too!
Stenocoryne aurea-fulva blooms every so often
Darwinara Charm 'Blue Star'
And a single small bloom on Leptotes unicolor
Name: Carol Santa Ana, ca Sunset zone 22, USDA zone 10 A.
They look great without the sun!
I had to put all of my movable ones in the orchid shack this morning. It seems winter is arriving here, a bit early. Temps supposed to be between 35F and 37F, depending on the weather program you watch. I also put the Billbergia 'Marbled Rainbow' I got from Ken in with the orchids because it has 2 bloom spikes showing. The Cyms., Epis., and the dwarf Sobralia will stay out, as will the Ansellia Africana ( which has two off season spikes, in bud). No room at the inn...
Another record temp here in the NE, we are going up to 64 degr F and then we are starting to look at night temps around the freezing mark. Some of the bushes in the yard are showing some serious budding, hopefully they survive.
