Ursula...that'll stop traffic right at the door...a stunner! The Lemon Chiffon are so cheery! Love em!
I was able to fit all the blooming plants on a kitchen counter and the rest into the garage ..and still had
room to bring the car in! It was just 3 or 4 garden cart trips...so not too difficult.

and while I was moving everyone I discovered 2 buds coming on Blc. Solar Flare 'Paradise'...so that made it all worthwhile!
I am hoping that this pretty V. Ayusakorn doesn't throw down all it's leaves in disgust with my poor growing regimen ..

Holy Moses, Lindsey. What eye-candy you have there. I would say your growing-regimen is anything but poor. Hurray!

Oh, that's so pretty, Lindsey. Look at all those gorgeous blooms! And just think how much they are cleaning the air in your house while they are visiting in the kitchen.

I have orchids on the kitchen counter, too. It really hasn't cleared up or cooled off much here yet, though.

For years, all my bloomers also went onto the bar in our kitchen. Now nothing goes there but plumeria flowers. I found another space for my orchids, what few I have that bloom. Sighing!

Lindsey I'm Drooling over that beautiful Vanda and the bar counter full of beautiful blooms.

Ursula lovely white and yellow Catts. I'm not good in remembering names.

Loving this cooler weather, am not bringing anything indoor...or should I?

I would bring in Vandas and Phals. Everything else should be fine.

Lindsey, you have one of the prettiest kitchen counters I've seen. Granite and quartz take a back seat to that beauty. Hilarious!

Thanks for all the wonderful affirmation !
Most of these were purchased in bud or bloom.. And a few with promising sheaths .
So they can't go on my score card yet . The root growth that I'm seeing as well as tons of new growths on the plants is a hopeful sign.
Gigi.. That's one of the $14 vanda from first orchids in APOPKA ..
Tomorrow going to try and rig up a misting system on a timer for the vanda family that is slumming it tonight hung on nails in the garage!

Feels like a big risk, but I left all my Vanda coerulea sisters outside tonight to suffer in the cold. After reading some more last night about them, it seems they want a chill or two in order to bloom. We'll see . . . Whistling Shrug!

The one already in bloom came in, though. Couldn't stand the thought of it dropping all those nice flowers.

It got down to 48 last night here in Wesley Chapel...in fact, it's STILL 48! I brought all the flowering and in spike/bud
plants into the house where it was 65 this morning (brrr!) I Imagine the garage was a little cooler.

We had frost here too but they are forecasting temps in the fifties for next week.
Lindsey, your kitchen counter looks wonderful!

It's well up towards 60 outside, but very windy so it still feels too cold for orchids outside, to me. Awoke this morning to find the cat sleeping on my chest - she's 15 and has never done that before. She must have really been cold!

Beautiful sunny day, though. Looks like good weather to plant spinach, cabbage and peas! Now, next week I'm not so sure it will feel like "cool weather" veggie season . . .

Next week is going to be mild for us and I see that the entire northeast will be mild too. I had to check your regional weather because I have three boxes of plants going up there. I have been "sitting-on" those plants since it was too cold this week to ship them. Next week looks fine though.

Yep, @sugarcane. I just checked the weather for the entire east and northeast, and it will be quite mild the next ten days. I have been "sitting on" three orders going up there because it was way to cold to ship this week. They all go out on Monday. Hurray!

I feel asleep and did not bring my Vanda and Phals but they look fine this morning. The Catt is still blooming and the NoID den's bloom still look good.

That bee looks like it's sheltering from the cold, not pollinating Gigi! Hilarious!

The Phals might actually be stimulated to put out spikes by having one night of chilly weather. But if we get more than a night or two, I'd sure advise covering or bringing them in! Mine stayed outside last night too, but were covered with frost cloth.

Depending what kind your Vandas are, (if they are related to V. coerulea) they might be ok, or they might go dormant on you, and then sulk for a year from getting too cold.

We're off to Singapore and Indo China in an hour or so. Shutting down computers and hoping for the best with local weather. Lot's of plants are outside. Squeeze your thumbs to make global warming as real as can be and keep away the cold. This is really a very bad time to go away as so many plants are in bud and I may miss their flowering. I have a L. colombiana that has been growing two spikes all summer. 40 inches long and I'm dying to see the flowers open. It's close but no cigar. Be back next year by mid-January with a few pictures.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.
