When we get the list to send in does it tell us who won the bid so we can separate them by person for our host?

It will have the recipients name and which seeds they won. Each plant will have a check box next to it so you can check it off as you pack it, then put the list in the pack with the seeds.

I'm ready to roll. I had my husband make me another seed box to help with this swap. It is just wide enough for a baggy. I have placed a baggy for each player in there. As they fill up I can slide the wood bar inside to hold the bags nice and tight. Smiling

Susie, I think everyone appreciates a legible label! nodding

Another note on that topic, writing that's written on a plastic bag with a marker (even a permanent one like a Sharpie) can often start rubbing off which makes the words illegible.

My labels are in Arial, font size 9. They aren't all printed yet, though, so I can change it up if that will be hard to read for a lot of people. I was trying for a size that would let me put all the plant information on the label and still fit in the zips I use for fine seeds. Also, the binomial names are in italics, but, after reading deejay's comment, it occcurred to me that might be hard to read in smaller font. Any feedback and suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Michelle arial 9 is fine with me its as Dinita said sometime some of the markers get rubbed off & Then you have no idea as to what the seeds are or how to plant .

I Have a question I thought I could type in a type of seeds I would like to find & it would list who has them on their trade place but nothing comes up am I doing something wrong ?

Looking for a few of these maybe no one has them or maybe they are listed under another name .

To all: Cultivars often do not come true, be aware of that. Usually you will get plants of one of the parents.

Susie, my labels may suffer from my handwriting, but this system has a saving grace that should make up for it. At the end of the swap everyone has a printable list for each player they are sending seeds to in the swap. Of course, if you don't have a printer you are still bound to hand write, but most people will be cutting the printable lists out, checking off each seed as they pack it and including the packing slip in the baggie with the seeds. It makes it easy for you to check off to make sure you have packed everything, easy for the host to sort and easy for the recipient to verify what seeds they received.

On the first day of the swap you will earn one extra ticket for each 2 of yours that get picked. So if 4 of yours get picked then you get two bonus tickets. If you "sell" 5 packs of seeds then you will get 2.5 tickets. Partial tickets can't be used but any unused tickets and partials roll over to the next day. The number of bonus ticket you get drops each day as the regular tickets increase. I think you get 1 bonus ticket for each three of your picked on day 2 and 1 for every four on day three. By day four you will be starting the day with 16 regular tickets so the bonus are really meaningless at that point.

You can pick at any time of day as long as you have tickets left. But the new daily tickets will be posted at the same start time every day.

I wanted to let you all know that I was happy to be in the swap, but I cancelled. Just about the time I think I have it together I do something silly. I was sending my seeds in for the Wish List Swap and I wintersowed 40 bottles this weekend. I thought to myself, "I'm done. I can give away my extra seeds now." So I packaged them all up and sent them to someone who is sending them to new gardeners so that I didn't waste a trip to the post office. Only after I get home from the post office do I realize, "Hey, you just gave away your seeds for the Not From the Seed Rack Swap." So I am very sorry--and I was more than a little distracted by life today.
I will be back to learn this system and to trade--probably next year. It's not that someone offended me or that another swap pulled me over to their side.

Heidi, its fine. There will be other swaps.
As to "sides", there aren't any, or at least there should not be. The more swaps there are to choose from the more everyone is likely to find one or more that suits them.
