We are being so SPOILED here in the north .. I do NOT want freezing temps as we have way to much moisture on the ground ..
Have a couple of World Class Cross Country ski events happening in the area ..

DH and I are off to Toronto (1600 miles east of here) on Monday .. he's having eye surgery for glaucoma .. be there a week and I am hoping for 'normal' Toronto weather .. damp and 'cool' ..NOT freezing!!!

Instead of taking my Yaktrax on and off, I just carry indoor shoes to changeinto most times. For me, whatever 'inconvenience' is far better than a slip and fall.

100 gals of heating oil delivered and paid for today...measurably less anxiety about the jet stream dip and the moisture conveyor belt up the coast or across the country.

Are my ice scrapers congregating with unmatched socks somewhere? Just bought two new ones as the old ones are not under the driver's seats.

MM .. if and when you find 'the secret hiding place' could you see if there is a black leather glove, or, a white fuzzy mitten in with the mix !
I was getting stuff ready to pack, and, I have one of each of those items

The POLAR VORTEX did come in as we slept .. instead of a temp in the 30s F we woke to 10F with an absolutely ikky NORTH WIND

Thinkin a cuppa would be nice ..

It's foggy here this morning and about 66 degrees. Promises of sunshine to come, and I have a LOAD of yardwork planned.

That Artic Vortex is coming south over the Midwest , tomorrow night were are getting 7 degrees and teens for a high ,
Rain off and on now , and Snowstorm warning ,tonight and tomorrow ,,
40's now ,and last we will see 40's and 50's for a while .

Brrrr... that cold weather is supposed to show up here tonight. Back to reality!

20 something and dropping already. Brrr...

48 and rain here. Thunderstorm blew through last night and woke us up. I'm hoping the weather holds through next week because then we will be traveling SOUTH barring any unforeseen developments at DH's annual physical next Thursday.

It's 55 and sunny here. We had bad storms come through last night. We were lucky that we didn't get any hail, but a large area of Houston did. News said it caused a lot of damage. We may get to 32 for the next few nights. I'll cover a few plants, but most of them will just have to tough it out!

Such variances in weather, guess it wouldn't be 'a world' if there weren't
Always blows me away how we can all go through the changes, and, 'roll with it .. not easy sometimes ..

As always we have our 'winter birds' coming to the feeders .. love watching them .. we also have one HUJUNGOUS Grey Squirrel, not really something you see here .. we have Red Squirrels, this guy showed up in October and has made himself at home ..much to the delight , and, frustration of the dogs ..
I swear, he's the size of a small cat ! I have pics, just have to get to them and crop them and such ..

Anyway .. doing the 'country bumpkin' thing today .. going to THE DUMP!! A total ecological disaster .. but, it's where our garbage goes. We do recycle

Amazing how many things set out as 'garbage' are claimed and picked through before being collected on garbage day!

Supposed to get a lot of rain tomorrow even starting this evening. Fortunately as the temps are expected in the 50's maybe near 60 it will be rain and not snow.

Marilynne Hope the trip is a safe and, for Gord, a productive, successful one. I will keep you both in my thoughts...Fly on the wall with fingers crossed.

Snowing here, we're supposed to get 2"-5". I was finally getting down to the driveway after all the slush we had that froze, now, it's covered again!

What do we pack .. I sur am not wearing my knee high boots and ankle length coat ! Security makes you take the boots OFF .. it's struggle enough getting them on at home where I can sit on me tushy and grunt and groan
The airline we are flying is 'tante amount' to a sardine can, so, a long coat is not doable ..

Anyway .. the ARCTIC/Polar Vortex continues here .... throwin a log on the fire, and, watching a movie ..
