The sustained below freezing temperatures we had the week before Christmas killed off all remaining blooms, but on Christmas Day we hit 80 degrees, breaking the previously recorded high temperature for that day...Gosh, I love living in Texas...

While wandering the yard on Christmas Day, noticed my tree peony. Check it out.

If you ever doubt the efficacy of a good thick mulch, take a gander at this Echinacea. Cold killed off the tops, but it is still springing green with all those leaves cocooning the base.

...annnnd, also thriving in December: Crystal Ann turning 4; Izik finding the plastic-lid-build-a-pathway set.

I didn't know anyone in the South got that cold! This form has really changed my mind about that Southern warm weather
