It is a solid wall that I can't even see thru!! Only 11 plants two rows back to back. 5 on one and 6 in the other.

It looks too overwhelming and blocks my view from my porch. I think next year I will be planting peppers in this spot as they don't grow so tall.

Those are magnificent!

I've been picking Oxhearts and I like them! They are really good on BLT's!

Thanks. Mine are those more common Roma shaped tomatoes. None are ripe or even blushing as yet. Of course I think they should get ripe already!!

Hi Cyber!
I ordered them from "The Natural Gardening Company and it just says Oxheart OG on the shipping label. I ran out to the garage and the package told me the same thing. I ran to the porch and got the catalog and it says it's the original Coeur de Boeuf. How's that for an answer, lol!

Hi, all! I have Cream Sausage and I'm having a hard time telling whether it's ripe. It's very pale, but still green-tinted, and quite firm. Are paste tomatoes supposed to be very firm? Anyone have experience with this one?

Taqiyyah,
Love your name! Not sure how to pronounce it, but it's interesting.

That made me laugh. I planted Indigo Rose and couldn't tell if they were ready so I ate one. Nooooo, not ready yet....

Humm, don't have that one but I would think it is not yet ready if it has a green tint.

Those are my thoughts--but the one that began ripening first has been like that for at least three weeks it seems...

Should I pick 'em--maybe they'll ripen faster indoors?

The photo on the TomatoFest website shows it as being more of a pale yellow, rather than a greenish-white; I'd give it a bit more time. Paste tomatoes do stay more firm than other types, but not really "hard," like a green tomato. You might have to more or less sacrifice a few to learn exactly when they're at the right degree of ripeness!

Yes, I think this pic is probably a good way to tell their freshness. In sunlight, though, they usually fool me by looking brighter white--but still with that greenish tinge. I have had white tomatoes before and noticed they usually get a little yellowish, like you said, Sandy, so I was wondering why these don't seem to be changing.

But okay, I'll be patient!

Yes, those words, so swift and succinct to type. The implementation sooooo long and painful.

I guess I can look at it as one less thing I need to worry about at the moment.

One of my Oxhearts. They are getting riper faster than Early Girl and make a pretty good BLT sandwich.
