I know a girl whose very first iris she pre-ordered was Maggie Beth.... Whistling And is now doing a happy dance that she did! Smiling Maybe the rhizome will come with lots of increases so it can be shared soon. Those Burseens do like to grow!

Mid-America has both Maggie Beth and Mad World, so snatch them up quickly when they open for the season! I know I'm kicking myself for waiting on Maggie Beth, plus Superstition was offering it for $7 cheaper than Mid-America is... Angry

The AIS bulletin listed Dusky Challenger rated #1 in the popularity poll. It first reached #1 in 1993, replacing Beverly Sills. A couple of years later Silverado moved into first place, but the next year DC was back at #1 and has rated #1 every year since. In photos it does appear to be a great iris, but being "another purple iris" I hadn't paid much attention to it. Now I'm wanting to grow it to see for myself what all the fuss is about!

I have Dusky Challenger. It's been a nice steady increaser. Here are 2 photos from last spring, but my camera filter (which was supposed to be color neutral) made it a little more yellow than it should be. It's natural is a deeper blue violet.

I would think something more dramatic, or pink, would be number one, but then people really really love purple iris.
