Here she is when I first found her in the cage. She seems small compared to the ones we've seen at the lake. In the second pic you can see why we knew she had pups. I've since talked to the neighbor up the street, who says she's seen the fox eating birdseed off the ground in her yard in the evening. (I know she doesn't care for papaya.
Only likes meat, so far).
Anyway, we understand that the coyotes keep the fox population down. Now that they have started trapping coyotes out here, the deer are back. I guess the fox feels safe too.

Residents Asked to Avoid Using Trails Near Kittansett Cove Until Coyote Trapping Ends
Wildlife management damage biologists are trapping coyotes in the greenbelts south of Kittansett Cove (off of Arronimink). The Lost Creek MUD has asked the LCNA to spread word to residents to avoid using the trails in that area until further notice.
The report is that the biologist will remove one or two coyotes from a pack which has been making nightly attacks on dogs in a resident's yard. The expectation is that the pack will react to the removal by moving to a new location.
If you use walk in those areas, please check the Today's Headlines section of the MUD website before venturing back into that area."
