Carey, Wendy's Wish looks like one that I bought too. I took some pics with my phone, but it was so windy they looked blurry. I still haven't planted any of them. Maybe tomorrow after I get back from Barton Springs nursery. Have to pick up the invoice for the trees we're buying for the fern bed at Zilker, so they can be paid from the grant money. DH said not to look at any plants while I'm there. Whistling

LOL good luck Sandi! Big Grin

I haven't planted any of mine either! I do have grand plans for the next couple of days though! I started my "wet area" - didn't realize I bought a tarp the size of a small house. I have it folded in half and it is STILL huge! I picked up a whole bunch of things at HD today too...rocks, mulch, more plants.. Rolling on the floor laughing

Sounds like you need to hire help! No wait, that's me! I need to hire help!

Lowe's has hibiscus trees for $10., all colors, regular $30. All the trees are now 1/2 price. Of course, I was on the leash while we were there today! We only went for spray paint. Anything in the backyard that doesn't move I'm painting.

I just bought a whole bunch of blocks for my retailing wall. Egads. Hoping to have that done tomorrow.

My little 'wet' garden is about halfway done. The ground is dug, the tarp is in place, the rocks are down, and some of the plants are there. Need to water and get some in there though. It's getting hot back there.

It's not much to look at, but it's DONE.

I'm thinking I'll move a couple of my orchids back there for a bit too.

You've been working hard! I moved pots all day from one side of the yard to the other. I had to come in and stop so i could run to pick up the invoice from Barton Creek nursery. DH decided he would go with me. I think he was protecting his credit card! Can't fool me!

I was down behind the pond this afternoon and found Rum Runner hibiscus covered in buds and blooms. This one blooms one color and then changes as the day progresses. I tried to take a pic, but it was so sunny, I didn't get a very good one of it. Plan to take another when the sun goes down a bit and see if it's a different color.

Wow! That is one beautiful hibi! I never had much luck with them - finally had one doing pretty well last year, and then we went on vacay for a couple of weeks...and our housesitter didn't water anything on the porch. Egad.

That squirrel is something else, BTW. That lovely bouganvillia? It's now about 6" tall. In a hanging pot in the tree. Sheesh.

Welcome back to Texas, Jerry! It sure is HUMID! But everything is drying out soo much! After what we went through with the drought...and then the rain came back and left during April...don't really like to go back to the old watering routine this early in the year!

I'm wondering where everyone is. If you're like me, you're enjoying the cool mornings before the heat hits around 2 PM. I have been MIA because I was asked to open my garden for a tour. I agreed in a weak moment because I'd have two months to get ready. Sounds like a lot of time, but it rained here quite a bit, the side yard flooded from the Great Wall of Neighbors' next door, mud covered the grass, and I started making "lists" which makes DH crazy. So far, I've completed all of the #1 priorities, moved to the #2s, and have forgotten about getting anything done in the #3s! The other two homes on the tour are a post antebellum mansion and a subdivision home with fruit trees and vegetables, 15000 gallons of rain collection tanks and solar panels. Did I mention, both of the other gardens have been featured on Central TX Gardener? No pressure, of course.... Whistling

I'm seeing lots of butterflies in the garden and a hummer that has a ring around his neck. The one that usually is here, hasn't returned yet. At least I'm enjoying the flora and fauna. Thumbs up

Well, I recently got a new camera and I don't know how to use it. It just has more functions and capabilities than I have abilites or experience. I've taken a few pictures, but only by avoiding functions I don't understand yet. I've got to study up on this one and that takes time. I took a couple of day trips. I visited to two native nurseries (where I'm always recognized on sight). I love them, but such temptations! One nursery owed me a free plant...for giving them a tip on the location of a colony of roadside plants last year. They are now growing those kind of plants. Also I went with DH and a friend on berry-picking trip earlier this week. I'm trying to get some things planted before it's too hot now.
Sandi, congrats on the yard tour! I'll bet that eventually you'll forget all the work and pressure and just remember how much fun it was!
