I would love to know why cats always gravitate toward empty boxes. One of mine loves to hide out in the dirty canvas bag that attaches to my lawn mower.

Our cat has a weatherproof cubicle because she lives outdoors. She's so mean that the dogs won't walk by her. Our blond lab is allowed to give her extensive baths, though.

I had a spoonful of the rose jelly. It's a very interesting taste, like nothing I've ever tasted before. The best way to describe it is that it tastes the way roses smell.

The way good-smelling old roses smell. Big Grin Like a fragrant alba or bourbon rose. Louise Odier has that perfect old-rose fragrance. No overtones of myrrh or Pond's cold cream.

All's well, Mary. They're all living happily in the ground. The tips and bits of cane they lost during shipping had no adverse effect on them. Naughty Nude has even put out new basal shoots. I probably will place another order soon.

I missed this thread and just caught up! Considering so many rose nurseries have closed, this is exciting!

This thread reminded me of a photo I recently saw on Pinterest.

Unfortunately, Ludwig's Nursery already gave up. The Arizona branch has been shut down and the website is gone.

I read that on another forum as well! Apparently announced on 22 September but I myself couldn't find anything official on the internet. The .com address automatically goes to the .co.za address now.

That's what I was thinking. Seemed they never really got the kinks worked out of the ordering system before going belly up.

There were so many kinks! The site originally said "free shipping to any state." By the time they started taking orders, they charged for shipping, but not enough. I paid under $12 in shipping for a HUGE box delivered by Federal Express. When I was placing a second order, I backed out as soon as I saw the estimated shipping charge, which was close to the price of the roses. They must have been overcharging to compensate for the earlier undercharging. They also continued to charge Arizona sales tax on shipments to other states even though this mistake had been brought to their attention by numerous customers.
