@HollyAnnS, I just checked on the swap tool, and you have not yet enrolled in the swap. Once you do so, the tool will make much more sense! The second post on this thread has more information on using it. Click on the "seed swaps" link (in the blue list on the left of the page), and you'll see 2 current swaps... ours should give you an option that says "join this swap" or something similar. Once you do that, when you click on the swaps tool, you'll see bold letters under our swap that say "you are in this swap," and you'll start getting "tickets" to use to put "dibs" on items.

I'm going to increase the multiplier again so that people who are late enrolling in the swap tool will get tickets faster. Those who enrolled at the start already have absurd numbers of tickets, so it won't really matter if that number becomes even higher LOL. I maxed the dibs at 50, will increase if needed (so don't worry that asking me for 5 tomato plants will use too many of your dibs).

Oh Critter, I was just going to copy/paste my list into the Haves / Wants thread. Not sure I will get around to doing the swap tool but I will go look at it.

My bad, I tried to catch up too quickly on this thread... Sally was the one talking about trying to put dibs on things and the wish list stars.. and she is enrolled in the swap tool list!

Either way works, but you might thing about signing up just to put dibs on the things you want from people who have listed stuff on the tool. I'm reallly loving the way the tool keeps track of requests for me!

Critter, I'd like one black marker and one silver one, please.

It's kind of mind-boggling that Sharpie sells "permanent" markers as well as "Industrial Super Permanent" markers and now "Extreme Permanent" markers. What's next, "a guaranteed forever supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" marker?!

I'd personally prefer descriptive names, like 'permanent on paper,' or 'permanent outdoors,' or 'permanent around acidic chemicals.' Shrug! I'd make a terrible marketing person. Whistling

That's why astronomy is one of my favorite subjects. It's black? And a hole? Black hole, it is! It's matter but can't be seen? Dark matter! Hilarious!

My swap items are looking great! Except for the oakleaf hydrangea... It hadn't rooted itself as I'd thought, even though it was buried a couple of inches under soil. What I should have done is peel off the bark a bit and ground layer it, but when I cut it off the mother plant and tried to root it, it started looking awfully sad. Shrug! Well, now I know!

Ssg, maybe wait til closer to the swap. If they are from the one I brought years ago, my offerings looked pretty sad, too. I dug them the day before and some had tiny rootlets some didn't. I just stuck a few in a plastic bag and hoped for the best. I was kind of embarrassed because it was my first swap and .....anyway. I've gotten over the embarrassment. Hehehe.

Jan, the one I got from you is doing great! Its has a bit of a different habit than the one I'm offering for the swap. Yours is more upright whereas this other is more "sprawly," so yours hasn't made any babies yet. And I'm afraid the one I dug up didn't even have any baby rootlets. Sad I just hope it recovers as well as yours did. What a beauty your oakleaf hydrangea is! You really have to see it in person to appreciate its presence in the garden. Thumbs up

SSG, Jan, so glad to read your posts. The Japanese anemone I'm offering to swap look downright pitiable despite their robust roots. Probably best to dig day before swap and bring bare roots. Whew, embarrassment averted. Or delayed.
Btw, my other offerings--ajuga, lambs ear, Siberian Iris--look fab.

Holly, I just looked at your "haves" list... I'd love any color of hellebore seedling, please! Mine have finally gotten established enough for a good show this year, so maybe they'll start making babies next year?

Also, no need to bring lemon balm... Martina's boys just helped me clean out the lower part of the orchard area, and there's a BIG patch, enough for everybody to dig up a clump! I need to put it on my swap list.

Those of you getting purple alyssum from me, this is what it looks like:

Thumb of 2016-04-23/ssgardener/545265

Isn't it a cutie? I forgot to note on the listing that I don't know the exact cultivar. It doesn't have those big flower buds like plain white alyssum. Just wanted you to know!

Terri, could you possibly be running out of things to plant?

We (Terri and I) just came back from the native plant sale at Morven Park, but each limited ourselves to 2 purchases. What a rainy mess first thing, and the food truck never showed. David is still there, volunteering.

Whew! I'm taking a quick break from yardening and swap-potting. What a gorgeous day!

ssg, I can spare some Sedum ternatum for you. It is very happy growing in full sun on the slope (i.e., well-drained) in my backyard (photo #2). It spreads quickly there. The non-blooming section in the middle are ones I transplanted in the fall.

Also, were you the one asking for Monarda bradburiana or was that someone else? If it is the plant in the first photo (greenthumb??), then I can pot up some.
