There is an old saying that I have heard; a robin gets its tail snowed on three times after returning before we get spring. Well...those ol' Robins got it wrong this year and came back to Wisconsin too early. They must have gotten their tails snowed on five or six times since I've seen my first Robin.

I hope it's warmer (and no snow) by Wednesday morning. I have to go turkey hunting. Hope I get one early on the first day of turkey season like I did last year. Was able to get back home and stay warm.

It is very cold here this morning. -10 c. or 14 f. There is snow on the ground, but at least the sun is shining. I sometimes can be putting my goldfish back out into the pond at this time of the month, but this year, it is still solidly frozen.

42 this morning. It is sunny so I'm sure it will warm up enough to go outside.
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.

Char,
I envy your wood stove. I grew up with wood heat and there's nothing as warm as that!

Linda,
That's too bad....

24° when I got up. Nipped!

Kelli, that's great that you have cooler temps and some rain. Hurray!

It is a beautiful morning here, bright sunshine, 36F, high will be around 58F, perfect gardening temperature, I have a little more cleanup to do. The daylilies are really growing great with the warm temperatures we have had, I am afraid we will still get a hard frost that will set them back but I hope not. Crossing Fingers!

Here is SE Texas the weather goes from hot (for this time of year) - 84-89 degrees back down to low 40's some nights. Our pecan trees have started with their leafing and so this means that winter is over for us. This is the last tree to start sprouting leaves. Soon it will be blooming and hopefully we will have some pecans. Not much winter here in SE Texas (west side of Houston - about 40 miles). Garden is already blooming. Have had three daylilies to open today.

Raining again today. Freeze warning again for tonight. A familiar but not welcome pattern.

That was because we don't have an aaarrrgghh! emoticon. I just looked at the weather forecast - could you guess! I shouldn't have. Snow changing to freezing rain and then ice pellets starting this evening. Currently it is -9C (16F) and sunny.

Kelli,
Awesomesauce!!

Margaret,
It sounds like you are in a better place in Canada than some others!

Eddie,
It sounds so nice to be able to get out and enjoy the sun! but that doesn't always mean it's pleasant Glare

I believe , with the exception of about a week in February , it is colder now than it has been all winter here . I am not sure how many times the daffs can reach for the sun (when it shows itself) only to drop to their knees every time they get hit with this bitter cold. The mini daffs are blooming but all the others are bent at ground level resting on the soil .The miniscule amount of snow we had has gone so no protection there for them . .

I would post a picture but for whatever reason ( and I have heard a number of them that don't seem to have anything to do with it ) I cannot post a picture on ATP with the right orientation . They all come out sideways or upside down so I wont bother .

Signet,
NOTHING sadder than a downed daffodil unless it's a peony in the mud. Boo hoo hoo.

As Sooby mentioned, it is very cold here this morning with snow, ice pellets and freezing rain expected overnight.

There has been a bit of melting in my gardens and I am actually able to see a few beds once again and read a few tags. I hope this latest bout of snow does not stick around for long Grumbling

We got 0.58 inches of rain yesterday. They are calling for a high of 64F today. The sky is clear so I think it will get hotter than that.

Another bright sunshiny day, but it got cold last night, 30F, should warm up to about 60F.

Sally, yes the weather is better here as I am more to the west in the interior of BC, but it does get cold because of the altitude, 3500 feet.
