Rosie,
That is so neat! I haven't started anything like that with the twins. They'll be five soon, boy and girl. Not sure if his Dad would want him to hunt fairies tho, lol!
ROTFL! I so hear ''being stuck with them.'' I love them but I get to the point I need MY me time back.
I won't do the praying mantis, crickets or grasshoppers. The hoppers jump on me with sticky legs and I am apt to give a little scream. June bugs are not on the list either!

The June bugs are so weird feeling..they...MOVE ...ewwww

But I will pick em up

Do you know how to make the mirror string?

Don't use clear fishing line..it does hang loosely, and is transparent etc., but the sun and elements harden and dry and the line will crack.

I use very very fine gauge metal wire...like for beading..it is flexible...lasts longer.
The mirtors cost $$$ in craft stores...but you can fine bulk on ebay, etsy, I am also going to look overstock and such.

I made one for a friend and attached a few religious medals and a piece of her mom's jewelry.
She hangs it from her deck and says it flashes her odd times...no fairy but her mom giving a "heavenly" hello

Rosie do you have a picture of the fairy strands? I would love to see it, we have a fairy garden.

Here is one...the green is reflection from trees.

Rain prevents me from other photos....this one from doorway of screened porch
The (sun sparked) "lights" from this one really hit the ground tho..the ones hanging under trees are hit and miss because of shade

I edited to make the message more clear. These look pretty under trees..hanging from limbs...but do good when placed where sun strikes.

Probably E6000 best but hot glue gun OK too since the glue is hidden from eleme ts between the mirrors. Glue better if kids making..no heat. But once you gather supplies...beads...dio dads..or just the plain mirror.. 15 minutes and a strand is done.

Rosie,
I wondered what you meant by the mirror strands and forgot to ask.
The Heavenly hello is so sweet.

I'm with Ronnie. Take us on a fairy hunt!

That is so beautiful!! I am not the least bit crafty but I sure appreciate those who are. I can see where it would be a good project with older girls. Good gift too. It would be very special.

The strand in that photo has no backing. The correct way to do it ( when you are not 6 years old ) is to place the string between to same sized mirrors. It protects the glue plus increases the reflective surface. Sally...this is one project that takes no time or effort.. You are limited by how long you want the strand to be. The cardinals attack the one you see.hollering the while time it sits next to a cryptomeria that is a nest magnet.

That is so very cool !!!

Remember when we were talking about brothers and I threw in cousins also!
I am on the left in back holding a doll, a cousin next to me holding a doll...mine. It was my bday, I got 3 dolls. One had already been beheaded. The one Teddy is holding was beheaded after the adults took the pic and left the area.
I'm standing there on the verge of tears that did fall seconds later

Yes, my brother on the end, he lives to bother me

I have a cousin who sent me 36 text messages once. One or two sentences in each and not in order. It was some kind of riddle and I never did figure it out. I told him I gave up but if he did that again I would smack him. He got a major kick out of that. Hilarious!

Question

Those 60-70's....sift rubber things for curling hair.

Looked like little flying saucers..little tortellini..less than 2 inch round??

Little spools...I think.. Spools may have been in the name.

A thin srand of hair would be wound up in one ...like thread on a spool...and then the top would be folded down and snapped shut.
I know I am not explaining this well.
My sis trying to think of name.
