Thank You!

I get the tiny Sen Sen Billy Joel sung about and the Cowards violet square candies...

Do you remember those?

This is an amazing store. And old fashioned 5 & 10, you can spend hours in it. The website does not do it justice. We would take the kids, give them $5 and after a couple hours they would walk out with a bag loaded with stuff. You can take a virtual tour, but it still doesn't do it justice!

I forgot about Sen-Sen I used to like them. The Violet I thought were a bit strange tasting. The thing I order for myself or stop at Cracker Barrel for are Horehounds different tasting but I love them. Cracker Barrel does carry a few of the old fashioned candies.

Like eating perfume..those violets.

I like the horehound too but first had those as an adult...there are trace "pockets" of dark molasses that I like in those..

Rosie,
Thank goodness my Mom liked to take pictures. Make memories easier to remember.
I remember Sen Sens but not the Violets.
My troll doll had long long blue hair! Better luck I thought, lol! And I had a rabbits foot!

Bob,
I cracked up over the candy ''watches!'' Sooo different from the candy necklace and bracelet!
So many familiar and unfamiliar candies!

Ronnie,
Yep, a whole packet of Neccos were fun!

Jolana,
I love that! (Your folder.)

Most candy is too sweet for me now, but I still like salted nut rolls. Now I want a package of Neccos.

When we were little my mom would get orange turkish paste. We could only get it in summer, and boy was it good. There was a candy shop not far from me that carried it but it closed, can only get it now on the boardwalk at the shore Sighing!

Now what is that?
I missed out on a lot!

Rabbits feet! Yes! Can you imagine that now...a rabbits FOOT with a chain thru it. WHY AND HOW in the world...... I had a bunch tho.

And I also had a long necklace with a watch on it....that was the thing...we all had those.

I also had a purse in the shape of a big cone...with a draw string top.. oh how I loved my purses and a new wallet for christmas... Nothing smelled as good as a new (vinyl??) wallet...except a new doll...the face and the hair..... What I wonder is HOW my dolls got blue ink on them...
IT WAS NOT ME!! And...that ink.....it was some powerful stuff.....
