The flower form does not looks like “Lan Xian Nv” to me. Your flowers are a bit similar to Japanese form, with long and thin petals in the center. I don’t see the long and thin petals in “Lan Xian Nv”.

The center looks similar to some rockii hybirds, however, I don't see the pink touch in those flowers.

kousa said:Thanks Yan and Littlebin. Really appreciate all your help for the ID. Yan, I think my NOID looks closer to the first one than the second. Its description about the fragrance being pleasantly sweet is what led me to believe it maybe Lan Xian Nu. This is the second year it has bloomed. Not sure if the blooms will get fuller when the tree is more established.

THanks Littlebin. Wow, those are beautiful tree peonies blooms. I really like the one from the third link.

I think my Rockii noid looks closest to the one from Cricket Hill. My Noid starts out with a pink touch but fades to all white after a few days. Maybe it is just a generic Rockii seedling of a named cultivar. Though when I bought it, the plant was actually grafted onto a herbaceous root so that led me to believe that it might be a named cultivar. Well, whatever it is, it has the most delightful scent of all the peonies that bloomed this year. I hope that it will have the same pleasant scent next year. As you know with peonies, not all scents in peonies are pleasant and their appeal varies from year to year. So I guess I will have to wait and see.

Karen, the one from CricketHill is ‘White Swallow Tail Flecked with Gold’.
Below is the link of this cultivar from Chinese website:

There is also another “White Swallow Tail” , it has less “gold” compared to the one “flecked with gold”

Many rockii hybrids has wonderful scents, so I believe you will have similar pleasant scent next year.
