I had more first time seen peony seedlings this year as well from the ones I planted fall 2014. There's 2 bunches that haven't come up yet at all from that planting, 1 tree and 1 herbaceous.

What are your special seeds, Tracey?

The seeds came from a friend who was given seeds from someone who has been working many years peony hybridizing.
Here are some pictures I took with my Canon Rebel:

Tracey, I just love the blooms on your new TP seedling. Is it in full sun?

Two more tree peonies and this will be the end of the tree peony blooms for me.

Boreas, received last year from a person whom I gave peony roots to for grafting. He gave me Boreas, Roman Gold, Angelet, and two others that I can't remember the names. Unfortunately out of the 5 grafted plants, only Boreas and Roman Gold survive. I know I should disbud this flower but I couldn't so here it is.

Can anyone identify this white tree peony for me? It blooms mid season. I would be so grateful to find out its identity.

Thanks LG. This is the first bloom from this TP in my garden after 2 years in the ground.

Tracey, I have always admired Guardian of the Monastery. What a gorgeous flower and color! Oh there are so many TP I want to grow! I can't control myself.

Karen, a grafting rate of success of 50% is considered great! Your results are good. Yay for you!!

Thank you, Lg. The seedling is in sun all day but shade after 3 pm. It's held up well in the heat so far. I think it's pretty nice myself. But I'm not really impartial. Haha:)

Tree peonies are beautiful in their own right. Just really nice to have around...

Is she Meikoho?
One photo is probably not enough to identify :(.

I appreciate any leads, littlebin. Anything you can think of that resemble this TP flower. When I bought it, it was just labeled as white Japanese TP. The petals are white with light pink flares at the base.

Thanks, do you think she looks like "Meikoho"?

Karen,

I saw this tree peony (Jin Zhang Fu Rong) blooming on April 30 at the Scott Arboretum at Swarthmore College; does it look like yours?

It does look very similar but my TP flower does not have a center of golden antlers like the pics of TP Meikoho.

CS, that looks very close to my flower. I have to check it out at Swarthmore next year. Thank You! I did purchase this NOID tree peony from MAPS (Mid Atlantic Peony Society) so perhaps my tree was grown from a graft of the tree at Swarthmore.

Wow, you are wonderful, Littlebin! Thank you very very much for the above info. I would not even know where to look. I really appreciate all you have done. I wish that the TP has more blooms on it this year so I can better compare to the above peonies that you have listed. Since it was labeled as a white Japanese peony, I will have to start there. I think the closest one from the list above is Shirotae. My petals have the flares bleed out like the ones shown in this flower. I am glad that it is closely matched to Shirotae because I think it is just gorgeous!

Karen, my pleasure :), I hope your is Shirotae. Your flower looks double, similar to Shirotae. Interestingly, the same name is also used to a herbaceous peony and a cherry flower.
