It really has been a nice year for tree peonies. Can't help but think they enjoyed our extended fall with warmer temps all the way into December.

Karen, it is its second year here. It is about 1.5 feet tall. I usually give any tree peony a few years, at least three to settle in to be a blue to make a good judgement on form of flower, height and flower placement. It has been hot here (in the 80s) and somewhat humid. That flower has been open 4 days and seems to be doing well. The colors are really nice as it the flower form, in my opinion, so far. The petals are pretty sturdy (this definitely varies in peonies in general) thus helps them withstand things (weather ex. heat, rain, wind), I think.

I've just been scrolling through this thread and your collection of tree peonies is just so, so impressive Tracey. It makes me wish they grew faster here and that we had a better selection of cultivars. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Nick & Yan.
Over the last several years I have really taken to tree peonies. I met Bill Seidl at Klehm's open house one year and asked his advice about seedlings I was trying to grow. I've been crazy for them since. Love Seidl's work and am fortunate to have several of his tree peonies growing as well as many others. I find they take a good three years to settle in, then they really take off.

Hi guys, I was going to head back out to weed, but it's decided it's going to do a downpour, so I'll play on here.

I love your tree peonies, Diann! My favorites are Right Royal, Kinshi, and Hephestos. They are all beautiful probably even moreso in person. The blooms on your Shima Nishiki are incredible. Must be a sight to behold!

Thanks. They would look a lot better except we've been getting quite a bit of rain here. We're winding down on peonies for the year.

@littlebin Hi Littlebin! Do you remember I asked possible ID on my NOID last year and you posted the pics above as possibilities. I got more pics of my NOID tree peony that bloomed this spring. I think these blooms look very much like Shirotae. Do you agree? Do you think the foliage match those pics above?

I am now more certain that my NOID is Shirotae. Thank you so much!

I also have a NOID Rockii that I would love to find its ID too. I have asked Yan to help me but wouldn't hurt if I seek your help too. Well, I bought it as Hua Die Rockii TP but it does not bloom anything close to the vendor's pic. It has the most wonderful scent - even better than roses.
Here are some pics of it. Would appreciate your help on this one too.

Karen,

Than you! I agree your NOID tree peony looks like Shirotae, the foliage looks alike too. She is very beautiful!

I don’t know the name of your NOID Rockii yet, I think she looks more double and is much more beautiful than Hua Die. I like the pink touch in the flower. I will keep in mind and let you know if I find a similar one with name.

Thanks for the beautiful photos:).

Thanks Yan and Littlebin. Really appreciate all your help for the ID. Yan, I think my NOID looks closer to the first one than the second. Its description about the fragrance being pleasantly sweet is what led me to believe it maybe Lan Xian Nu. This is the second year it has bloomed. Not sure if the blooms will get fuller when the tree is more established.
