No! Boil me in oil instead

I'm probably the only one... but "boil me in oil" instead of what?

Anna -- Rolling on the floor laughing about the socks; someone locally here sells alpaca socks, I think I need to check it out.

And, I think we're all in pretty good shape if all we have to be grumpy about is the weather Thumbs up

No way. We had to describe hell once...for me it was humidity wearing wool.

I love the look ..the richness of color when dyed ....but uh uh

I used to love wool, and even won a sewing with wool contest way back when. Now I'm allergic to it.

AnnaZ said:Lyn, I have a pair of alpaca socks..............they would keep your tootsies toasty warm. :>) I had to shell out $20.00 for them, and they are worth every penny. I bought them for the SU, but I put them on first and that was the end of that generous thought. Rolling on the floor laughing

Thank you, Anna ! I just bought 1 pair on line. I am so tired of cold feet. I think when your feet are cold, the rest of you never gets warm either.

@AgaveGirl1 ... I live up in the mountains, so none of the stores you mentioned are nearby. It was faster to buy something on line ... Smiling

I'm going have to try a pair of alpaca socks also. If the rest of winter is going to be like this I'm going to need them.

@AnnaZ, Anna ...

Here you go:

I found that the prices were pretty similar on most of the sites I checked.

Hope this helps.

These are not pure alpaca. I think, from what I read, the blend will make them last longer.

When looking for warm things ..try sierra trading post. I have not been disappointed by the sales... I know the brands I look for and this site always has best prices. Now you DO gave to troll and go back every now and again.. to find what you want but I bet they have alpaca something!

We have many folks who raise their own animals here and make the yarn..dye it and knit and weave. Is alpaca like llama? We are rich with craftspeople

Karen..we have local women ( and men ) who felt.. the ornaments are darling and so original

The felting looks like it would be fun to do, too. I have too many things I'd love to do, and never enough time.

Me too! Once I wanted a jewelry roll....but in my mind... it was a soft grey...with red touches... and yellow.... and the compartments ... I had those figured out too. I found a gal that made it for me...fekted from a man's flea market grey woolen suit... she added the compartments and my dis's initials and some swirly embroidery. I LOVED IT. would love to upcycle something like that

I found the photos I saved!

Grumpy because I have a sore throat and I need to rest to be well for Christmas.

Home safely from our quick trip north. Thirty pounds of candy and more stuffed animals. I went with Diana who drove her car. I still got sick!! She's going to be an elf on Christmas.

Back to bed. I'm glad to be home.

Unfortunately, Sugar died just before I left. she'd been in pain and the vet couldn't figure out what was wrong.

The remaining four are happy to have me home. Tony and a friend are pouring the concrete for the floor of my back bedroom. The last floor!!!!!
