If it wasn't real hot then it probably wasn't Cayenne, I have a ground red pepper too that is not as hot.

We eat at 1:30 -2pm .. read an article saying it's healthier to eat your main meal at lunch .. been working well Thumbs up

I have heard that also. That it is most beneficial to eat your main meal of the day at noon or so. But it would never work for me. I get really hungry late in the day and only want a snack around noon time. I guess everyone is different.

Of course! My preference - as a morning person - is also to have my main meal in the middle of the day but DH is an evening person so it doesn't always work out that way. We try to compromise.
What I really do not like, though, is to eat anytime after 7 pm. But - again - I don't always have a choice. Shrug!

We usually have our main meal around 4:30. I cook for my granddaughters and they are hungry when they get off the bus Green Grin! Weekends are a bit later and sometimes not at all if we have a big lunch, just a snack later in the evening.
That's what we did tonight, big lunch so no dinner, maybe just some oatmeal later.

The winter chill is finally settling in here, so it'll be soup. I recently made some chicken gravy, so maybe hot open face sandwiches, too, and likely a little salad to get in the greens. Sometimes it sure is nice to go easy.

Medallions of pork with a sauce made with my own chicken stock and vermouth. Very crispy potato wedges on the side, and vegetables.

We watched Downton Abbey too. I'm sad that this is the last season.

Dinner choices are getting slim here. I'd better get to the grocery today. That's my least favorite job.

Last year at the premiere of the DA season we all dressed up and made a real English dinner and set the table with Wedgwood and real silver..... with real Downton Abbey wine.... Smiling This year it was too close to New Year and nobody was in the mood for another party!

It is so ironic that you posted this because I was up until the early hours of the morning last night fighting an unusual case of insomnia and my mother (who is a night owl herself) recommended oatmeal as a meal to help me get to sleep. (I was far too full to eat, though, so I didn't have a bowl.)

That's my sentiment, too. I know that eating big meals later in the day isn't as good, but that's when I am hungriest. It's probably just a stubborn habit of the stomach that needs broken, but it's hard to do.

I am too set in my ways to even try to change that. I try to eat my dinner earlier so as not to be eating really late but nope, I can't change it to anywhere near around noon.
