Oh yes, it simply states it's closed but still able to post. The closed just helps us realize we have a new thread to post on.

That's odd. Other closed threads have the posting boxes taken away. Maybe that is done once a day.

No, those are on Forums with Moderators that close those threads. Here in the Sandbox it doesn't stop the posting.

I think you have to be a moderator to lock a thread.

Here we can mark a thread as resolved finished or closed which I think just said done. But one can still post on Done threads like this one.

You can suggest that it be locked by proposing/suggest a change.
