Cheryl,
Ok, lol! I may or may not watch it. I really can't do underwater scenes.

Gene,
I haven't see We're No Angels for a long long time. I seem to remember it was good.

RJ,
LOVE Christmas Vacation!!

I watched Hard Drive. Sad but not bad.

I watched this Christmas movie last night in Netflix: The Spirit of Christmas. Interesting supernatural love story in a Christmas setting. I enjoyed this sweet movie a lot. Smiling

RGR of the movie Office Christmas Party, mayhem, crazy, crude rude and socially unacceptable over the top, irreverent! Some laughs along the way. R rated for language, and nudity. not for 15 and under. Jason Bateman, some SNL cast members Kate McKinnon, Vanessa Bayer and Jennifer Anniston. 2 1/4 shovels out of 5.

The Christmas movie I would most like to see but have only seen the trailer is The Night the Reign Deer Died starring Lee Majors.

The original Miracle on 34th Street in black and white is my favorite Christmas movie. Actually, I haven't seen it in about 5 years.

OMG, I just watched a movie for the umpteenth time. Can't believe it has not been mentioned so far here. In Madison WI it used to be shown every Sat. at midnight. I think I was there for each one. Audience participation movies are unreal !! We knew each single line of dialogue and song in the movie by heart. We danced in the aisles. When was the last time you danced in the aisles at a movie? We brought along props: newspaper water pistols, rice, rubber gloves, etc. They showed the movie on a white sheet (not the regular screen as everyone as throwing thing at the screen.) The anniversary shows everyone would show up in costume. What great fun! Some hints: no neck, Brad and Janet, The Time Warp, Just a jump to the left, Tim Curry's best role ever, The Madison. No other movie like it ever !!! Gene

Yes, Ronnie - we own the DVD, Prancer. Sam Elliot is Great as the dad, and my favourite scene is when he's sitting in the house reading the newspaper, totally oblivious to the reindeer outside Rolling on the floor laughing

Well Vikings today was -- Days of our Amazon Lives.

Although Laegertha the blond in the series is based on a real woman, who actually knew Ragnar in a womanly way,, who also from history was a warrior and queen, there is no evidence of the scores of amazon warriors the TV show is portraying, although there are true histories, not fiction sagas, that there were at least a few women warriors in some battles although not in the Viking age but the Byzantine age.

Ah I just call it as artistic license in the movies and tv RpR, it happens a lot. But I do like it if the show makes me read more of the historical reference later on, helps me see which was true and which was just exagerrated or fiction to gain viewership.

Yes, I enjoy the idea that it is based on real history. OK, loosely. I believe it does stir up interest on that interesting period in history. I collect coins, particularly English coins. My oldest is from 990 AD. A silver penny. Aethelred the Unready. So named because he had no standing army and was often invaded by the Vikings and had to pay them off in silver. Silver coins. For over 800 years of English history the only coin they had was the silver penny. In these days where change is almost constant, I find it hard to fathom something that stayed the same for 800 years. Fascinating IMO. Gene

I like it but until last year it was far closer to truth than fiction.
As I said in an earlier post, they keep it going till it loses any sight of the premise it is based on and that is, to me, exceedingly annoying as it gives reason to those who did not watch for presumed negative reasons, reason to gloat.

Christmas movie I go with The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Tim Curry role close but I go with Pennywise.
I still enjoy Vikings for what it is a good drama show, also liking Real Vikings for a more accurate description of the times.
