Thank you, Lucy. I have been in contact with Charlie. I sent him Violet Lass, I think, last summer. If it is the wrong one he is supposed to email me and I have isolated a 'for sure' VL to send to him this summer. I have told him that he is welcome to any that I grow. I appreciate the people who are preserving our iris treasures.

Those are some of my favorites too, Marilyn. I like the old and the new, the pale and the bold. I have some bigger guys poised to open that I am really looking forward to.

I got Little Chestnut last year. http://www.walking-p-bar.com/s... All of the iris from that order have done very well over the winter. Dunno what will bloom in the first year. We'll see. Smiling

So far I have had three bloom as wrong ones. Fiesta Flirt turned out to be Iris Harp. IH is distinctive and easily recognizable. The second was Red Velvet Elf. The little bloom opened very pale but it opened the morning of the hail storm so it is hard to evaluate. I would say it is either white, cream or very pale yellow..... not Red Velvet Elf. I have another bloom stalk on it and will post it when it opens. The third, so far, was an AB named Dream Catcher and instead it turned out to be this little SDB

It has a white ground with plum coloring and a modern form. Does anyone recognize this little guy?

Rob, have you been following the thread on the Arilbred irises? Donald and Carl have gotten me hooked on AB's! There are some gorgeous ones there too! So you may need to revise your raiding party route! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Ohhhhhh, I have been designated a stop on the R. R. R. - rhizome raid route! I am honored..... my irises are scared. It got pretty cold last night dipping down into the 30's and is not forecast to get out of the lower 60's today. That is going to slow things down a bit. But it will warm up next wee and set the garden in motion again. Have you ever noticed that weed growth is not slowed by anything?

I agree with Marilyn! The AB's that have been posted are making me quite envious. And the seedlings........ sigh.

Well, you probably know this, but check the place you got it from first. They may have it in their catalog/online catalog.
