One of the first orange ones to bloom is SDB Autumn Orange, Donald Spoon, 2003. I had a hard time capturing this ones really orange color.

Sherry, this is Plicutie's second year in my garden and it is a really enthusiastic historic. I will probably need to thin it this June.

This is a little guy that has been around for a bit. It grows well and has a lot going on.

This little guy reminds me a bit of the TB Mastery. Perhaps its the yellow standards and wide rim on the falls.

The iris powers that be decided several years ago that this iris should be classified as a Standard Dwarf and then did nothing to change its class. Oh, well. It fits with the little guys but will be listed as an IB until, or if ever, it is officially changed.

Nice !! I was hoping for "bloomer shots", but iris pictures are nice, too !

This is a 2003 Thomas Johnson SDB named Attendant.



The falls are very bright and the standards dark and velvety.

This is a little creamy white iris that has long lasting and larger than SDB average blooms.

Baby Snowflake is *supposed* to rebloom....it hasn't offered to for ME....yet!...but hope springs eternal !!

The tops of the standards are so dark and velvety that if they were black you could not see them. It is a little guy with wide standards and falls. It has a little more yellow where my photos show all white.

This little guy is very pale lavender with purple stripes and a lavender/blue beard. I love this one and it blooms every year.

Are SDBs all really that short? It seems weird having a bloom practically on the ground. They are all gorgeous though.

Liz, MDB's are under 8 inches tall, SDB's are between 8 and 16 inches tall. Over 16 inches are the IB's. Most years, for the bearded irises, the shortest bloom first followed by the next highest and finishing with the TB's. This year they are a little out of order.

I grow these two close together. Both are yellow with blue beards but one is pale and the other bright. The contrast emphasizes the difference.
