We are just up to the right amount of rain according to the weatherman. It has been low water in May. No sign of problems as yet, but irises are not supposed to be difficult to grow.
Still recovering from iris trip & iris show.
Leon, it is very serious in many areas. Lots of homes flooded, high water rescues--and bad accidents from idiots who think they can still do 70 on the highway in high water. I am fortunate in my location, and that I have a pier-and-beam house. More rain coming through Saturday morning.
Debra - I heard Houston is in for 10 more inches. Praying that you stay safe, and that Mr. Burseen, Judy at the Shady Spot, and the Stouts, all down the road a bit don't lose a lot of their irises. Stout's lost A LOT of them last year.

Also wanted to post a couple of pictures of Open Sea. I've had this Iris for a few years, but I don't ever remember it blooming like this before. The blooms are HUGE -- easily 8" across. Is this normal for this Iris????
Sorry for the quality of these two pictures -- not as crisp as I like. But -- this is a gorgeous Iris!!!!
