No -- not a *politically correct* issue, Leon -- Arlyn was having a quiet chuckle over my mole trap adventures of days gone by. I had purchased and applied a specific mole trap -- with great difficulty. I'm probably not strong enough to set the trap well -- I tried and tried, and fought with it, and finally got some semblance of what the picture showed it to look like when set. It wasn't an hour later that my husband drove the truck into the yard to unload groceries at the back door -- and drove over the damn thing. Grumbling I shared my mole-trap-woes with Arlyn who was polite enough not to laugh. At least, if he did he didn't say so. Whistling Whistling Whistling

Well Leon -- I just love your mole trap. And I'm so sorry that you lost her. I lost my heart-dog several years ago -- I know that I will never get over it. I can see every inch of her in my mind's eye -- and my real eyes are hungry to see her again. And so is my heart.

What breed is your mole trap? And what is her name?

I hope that another dog comes your way that you can love and enjoy as much as this one.

I can relate to this: Big time! & not funny. I had just bought a brand 'spankin' new lawn tractor several years ago & had set a 'forgotten' mole trap in the lawn. The result was disastrous! (And EXPENSIVE) Grumbling I rarely tell anybody about that, and my wife could not understand WHY I had to have a new blade for the deck! Whistling Whistling Whistling A lot of 'troubled water has flowed under my proverbial bridge' over the years.

My 'baby's' name was Prissy after a comic strip several years ago. I even saved a paw print from her last trip outside. She was a Rat Terrier, and I'm looking for another one this year: Hopefully soon!

It's heart breaking to lose a dog like this; especially when the vet has done everything possible. I got her as a very small puppy.
This makes three dogs and I don't know how many cats over the years. Seems like I can't live without them. Sad

Here's Cardinal Rule, the color is really darker then pictured, but the beards seem different then your NOID. Maybe should check the data base for better pics. My camera does funny things with reds it seems.

Yes I know how that goes, I had to say goodbye to my Patch last fall. I still have her sister and litter mate Cheyenne who is 11 this year.
The two sisters in their chair.

The paw print breaks my heart. Crying

I wondered if she was a Rat Terrier. My Mom grew up with Rat Terriers -- and she loves them dearly. I've never known one personally -- but she sure looks like she knows what her job is!! She looks like a doll. Lovey dubby

Yes Tom -- it is heart-breaking. Very hard to handle. I wonder why we let ourselves in for such heart-ache. Guess they're worth it though -- we keep doing it, don't we?
Patch looks like a character!! Cheyenne is your last dog, isn't she?

Dogs almost know what we are thinking. At least that's been my experience. When I would get ready to go into town she was way ahead of me jumping up and down by the truck door. She always sat on my arm rest, center console and occasionally she reached over and licked my face! Smiling So I am sure you had the same feelings about those beautiful animals. They are like family! And their memories are still with us! Thanks for sharing these Tom. Thumbs up

Iconic is like that too, but once again my camera didn't get it as dark as it is.

We had cockers . John decreed 'no more pets' a couple years ago. he said that he was tired of burying them. one of our cats was a mighty hunter. they others could be tricked by chipmunks of all things. We only have the star nosed moles here. The chippers can be annoying, & I think that milk snake here the other day was after them. We certainly have a great supply.

It's hard to bury them, Lucy. I totally understand John's feelings.
