Close but no. It does not have the lines in the haft that Flavescens has. This is a big bloom with a slight yellow ring around the standards. It looks light yellow from a distance, more yellow tint when first opening. It looks more white to me close up! No PBF

Welcome Nicole!! Welcome! Welcome! It's always nice to see new people here! nodding

Mary Ann, I think you are thinking of the Noid I posted recently that was identified as possibly Miss California, but this one certainly looks similar! Maybe they both are Miss California! Thumbs up

Iris Hart- I Completely agree with you on the issues of comparing irises in photos. Especially when one of the photos is from Blue J, who is notoriously off balance on their colors. That's one reason I like to look at photos from several sources when trying to narrow down the possibilities when identifying irises.

It has been my experience that although differences in cameras, lighting, soil, and time of day can alter the colors they do not affect the patterns of the iris (prominent veining vs blending). They also don't explain beard colors being different (lavender vs yellow).

Here is the AIS registration description for Long's Peak.
'Long's Peak' (John Durrance, R. 1994). Sdlg. D90-124V. TB, 42" (107 cm), Midseason late bloom. Grape purple, Falls with white haft markings; beards yellow. Parentage unknown. Long 1994.

And here is a better photo of Long's Peak from the AIS wiki:
http://wiki.irises.org/bin/vie...

It's just my opinion...but I think you need to look further to identify your Noid. I enjoy looking up Noids to help people, but there are so many possibilities for this one I just have not had the time to tackle it.

Mary Ann: No; the Persian Berry is not one from you. It's one I inherited when we moved here.
I've tried to keep all your labeled properly, but a few tags got chewed up by the dog and/or deteriorated
before I got them set out. I've kept a list of those you sent, so hopefully I'll be able to ID them when
they bloom.

My niece has this one blooming now. Such pretty colors. These were there when she moved in and the former owner didn't know the names.

Your yellow one looks like one that at least a couple of us have, or similar ones. Two names I've got as possibilities are 'Spring Romance' and 'Grecian Robe'. Yours may have more veining on the hafts though..

On my creamy white/yellow iris I am really leaning to Magnolia for a possible match. Now I have to find someone that has it besides Matthew's. I suspect my chances of going to Missouri to buy irises is pretty slim!
