Good move. Hetty knows her Plumies that's for sure! She could put us all to shame when it comes to her beloved plumies. Smiling

YVW Hetty! I'm only speaking the truth.
Here's a riddle for you:
Why will Hetty never move very far north of Naples?

Because she could never afford a greenhouse big enough to hold all her plumies! Rolling on the floor laughing

Hey Dave! Can you give us a little "go juice" here? Is it possible for you to tell us a # of how many MOL complete data & photo entries we have now?

I can literally hear all the keyboards clicking away as people enter info.; I feel the energy of all of us. Like bees in a beehive we're all working away toward a common goal.

Under Propagation: Seeds, you've got to add -does not come true from seed- or whatever the correct terminology is.

Edit:
Dave, One of the things I'm always looking for is plants that bloom during a certain time frame to add some color here when it's slack. I don't know how this works, whether by zone where it's grown or what. You get the idea. So can bloom time be linked to zone and that be available in advanced search?
Evan

Thanks, I've added this in.

Congratulations with the new Plant Data Base! Thanks so much Dave, brainstormers, testers, members who gave free their data base, it is great so many names have already been entered making it easy for us to add our pictures, I have the feeling it will grow very fast! Hurray!
I'm very happy too we can edit our own entries for when we made a mistake! Smiling

Dave,
It's OK with us and if you are able, you can add Cubits.org SWL database to ATP new DB...

There are only ten plants in that database. I think it'll be easier for ya'll to just add those 10 plants manually into the new database...

How about a way to propose changes to genus and species. I found one plant listed that is actually a synonym.

And how many photos do you want Dave? If a plant already has 4 or 5 photos, should we keep adding more?

If you have a bloom and there are already 4 or 5 blooms, then consider not uploading it unless it is a particularly good photo or adds a new dimension, angle or color or something that isn't already there.

In general, I'd say the more photos the better. Thumbs up

One of the reasons I find general DB photographs more useful than a nurseries/growers is that they sometimes show the entire plant in context. Both in bloom and not in bloom.

Well, as long as we're asking for the moon and stars, how about a mention of wintersowing in the germination area? Something simple like "wintersows well" would be good.

I, for one, wintersow a lot more seeds than I sow under lights. Knowing that other gardeners have had success with that plant is very helpful to me.

I thought we had wintersowing somewhere... maybe in a drop-down box? I remember a conversation about "sow in place" or "sow indoors," etc.
