It's great when they bloom for the first time isn't it? I have a couple of TB's showing a bit of color now, so I should have some coming soon, however we have a frost quite probable on Saturday night. Crying

What is with the weather??? We have just been having some monsoons!! Yesterday, when I worked outside I really should have had on my rain boots not my garden clogs. I am ready for it to stop.

Tom, those that I got from you are doing great!

Unfortunately, for us folks in the Upper Mississippi Valley, a pattern has been in place for about a week where cold dry lines come down from Tom's neck of the woods and collide with warmer gulf air and the storms pop up in western Kansas/East Missouri and explode in severity and size. The water values in the gulf air is pretty darn high, thus the heavy rains. Looks like this pattern could stay in place for the next week or so. Then they all move eastward.

My work shoes are so wet I have to put plastic bags over my socks before I put them on or else I'll have cold wet feet instead of just cold feet. I have been trying to dig up iris that I have lots of and give to the neighbors and when I get the clump of mud out of the ground it drips water. Lord have mercy!!

If you want to watch something, go to Wunderground and key in Washington KS. You will see a small thunderstorm forming. Over the next few hours you will likely see it explode into a serious storm. The weather here at 0530 was cool, no wind and very stable air. About 2 hours ago the wind shifted out of the SW at about 20 mph with much higher gusts. This is the warm air that NWS said would dig under the cool dry line and cause updraft. The other thing is there is no cap in the atmosphere. What that means is any storms that do form will have nothing to limit them in height. That is not good. Also, the sun is shining just enough to heat the storms.
This could be fun to watch if wasn't for the fact it will head my way. I did get some pictures today, just haven't had time to post.
Still hoping the whole mess misses and falls apart. Not only for our sake but for you folks downstream from here.

Blessings

A nice place to be right now is Cuba KS on highway 36 headed east. You would be safe and likely be in for a good chase.. I do miss those days..

Look at all the spots on Leopard's Print. I know I posted one earlier, but these later blooms seem to have more spots.

I can't think of any purples with orange beards that are purple, at least not in my garden. Not sure if there are any. Maybe others would know, or you could do a search in the Data Base.

Teresa I had a lovely purple/lilac TB with a tangerine beard called Morning Mail by Blyth. Something dug it up this spring and now I have an empty space. It really made me unhappy. If anyone know of a vendor for this iris I would like to replace it.
