Thank you all. Uncle Gene was taken to the hospital last Thursday with respiratory problems. Upon doing a CAT scan found in his right lung a dark mass. The doctors were unsure if it was from the emphysema or if there was a tumor. The wouldn't do a biopsy for they didn't think he would live through the surgery. He was 5 foot 10 inches and only weighed 80 pounds..,....
They gave him 6 months but he would be bed ridden with oxygen. That would have been no real life. It is truly for the best.

'"The Alocasias? I don't know. I know them as Alocasias. Right now they are in the sun room but we need to make their room in the living room ready. Ed simply has gone nuts over these two plants.

They've been in the sun room a couple of weeks only. Yes they like a lot of water and I do feed them maybe every other watering at 1/2 strength. Yes went outside in May and came in like I said a couple of weeks ago.

I still have about 6 brugs out there,, about 5 canna plants a couple of colocasias my jade plant, a tuberous begonia. I HAVE to find space for them. They are talking hard frost early next week...............

In today's Newspaper DEADLY BUG THREATENING PARK TREES. Evidently Forestry Commission scientists have found Lawson cypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana), infected with Phythopbtors laterallis which is thought to have come from the US or Canada. How it got here has not been discovered yet. Any tree that gets the disease the leaves will change Colour from a normal olive green to a shade of olive grey, then wither and turn to reddish brown as the foliage and the tree dies. It seems to be spreading so beware. I do not know if it is prevalent in the US at the moment, but like Dutch elm disease disease which came from Canada, I am sure they will find out!
Regards.
Neil.

That tree doesn't grow in our area. Certain areas here are having trouble with ash borers.
