Look at it this way. His coming on the forum at this point of time and then going of the map? Maybe God has His reasons, who ever can should band up and go together check on him.
Regards,
Arif.

Arif, back in November I was thinking the same thing, and I would be willing to go, yet it would also be a huge uproar for my life, and he may not want someone in his home/yard trying to make sense of his stuff...so I've put it off, but if anyone else is reading this and thinking of doing something, please let me know...it could be an adventure and truly help him and the semp community!
Cheers

Well, I haven't heard from her yet, she is a very busy person. Between the farm, green houses, trees, milking, cheese making, operating an organic food cafe, raising children, and much more.

I may be wrong in my reading but it felt like a plea in the sunset of life for someone to reach out so that he could pass on the knowledge and his pets into good hands. I think that is a natural human response. Maybe I could be wrong.
Lynn, why do you fight with me to reach out to my 80 plus parents, be honest.
My mentor in homoeopathy was an old lady 80 plus. When she died I was at sea. By the time I found out and could contact her daughter she had sold all the old ladies notes kept over her life time to the waste paper dealers. I regretted that part. Shrug! up to you all.
Regards,
Arif.

Am I fighting with you Arif?
Those of us that were blessed by having older mentors are very fortunate indeed. Some day we will see them again.

It is sad when family sends things to the trash or to strangers.

Charleen - I agree if you add "understand or appreciate" I think often people get (pre) occupied with their own interests and life, and loose connection with parents/former mentors, without intending harm! (and then there are those who are just careless and vapid!)
But in Gramps case I know from reading things on here and other websites that he was/is working with his daughter and I think it would be unfair to say that she "isn't involved or doesn't care about him" (although I may be totally misunderstanding what's being stated in this thread) I do wish him and his family well and hope all if fine with him! Thumbs up As I'm sure everyone on ATP does as well!!
Cheers

I agree
Gramps is very close to his daughter, as she is to him.
I still haven't heard from either of them.

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. When I was talking about my mentor I was not saying her daughter did not love her mother she did, but a store full of handwritten notes over her mother life time did not have any meaning at all for her, just squiggles. So, she sold them to paper recyclers.

Gramps, I came across him in some other thread Shrug! beats me where. So many threads read, now just confusion but if you do a search (I still have to learn) you will find him. In that thread I was surprised the way he was ignored, I was new reading silently then. Some forums have a certain amount of politics and I, forget it just take it as learning.

I have very very loving daughters but I know one thing, if I am going to go I will look for a person who can take care of my plants. My daughters wont. Love has got nothing to do with it, they just do not have the aptitude. Might as well call a spade a spade.

Fast modern comfortable life, no time for others. We go looking for company on chat forums and find a type of catharsis from real life. We have empathy with dogs, cats, etc Lovey dubby oh how cute so sleek and beautiful. Look look a frogy Hurray! but forget some thing vital in the process. Humanity become collateral damage.
Regards,
Arif.

Arif, I don't mean to be confrontational, I hear you and agree on many points, yet I also feel that there shouldn't be an expectation that your children or mentees will take care of your things (or my things) or even care about it - we all have limitations, and specific interests and sometimes those can conjoin so that someone's life work is saved and a garden's worth of plants are taken care of...but I think its healthy for us to know that this is rare and unusual and that we are made up of non-permanent moments, including our writing or what not - we hope that someone will care enough to do something about organizing and saving, but that's really not likely! Dogs and cats and animals I think understand about impermanence and serve as reminders for us - if we listen!! And also if its really something important to us - plan ahead and figure out someone who will take action! (easier said than done I know!) My mother was a social worker who spent years saving papers about all types of issues and had boxes and file cabinets and when she got ill my siblings came together and in looking through the items we couldn't see too much value - it was so specific to her work and none of us are editors so we didn't even know where to begin, she wasn't dead, just weak and ill and she sat in her wheelchair and we'd ask, should we save this? That? this? and she'd answer and most of the things went into the recycling bin. It was/is very sad, yet also a way of life, and part of what excites me about this "age of information" is that we are figuring out ways to keep and document things and save them in much smaller sizes! Its not all bad! Sorry if I am going on and on...you hit a nerve I guess, because I feel that in this case Gramp's semps and plants may be lost, and I wish I could do something to stop it! That's all! I tip my hat to you.
