Janice, here are some Versa series coleus right after sprouting in January. They're in the red cookie tin (Christmas cookies came in the pan)

Here they are in cups in March

Not really. Coleus are slow growers compared to a lot of other plants. And the versas are rather big coleus. The first 4 to 6 weeks they hardly seem to grow.

that seems to be right.. they germinate and stay that way for a long time compared to other seeds that take off right away

Anyone know the name of the green and cream one? I bought it locally without a tag.

Maybe Dappled Apple?

I love going to there. Last year I found a silver leaved cyclamen persicum with a green edge. No scent though.

Not so good here. I've been pretty negligent. I've let them dry out several times, most have lost their biggest leaves. And those leaves are slow to regrow in winter. I know I haven't fed them enough either, and many are pot bound and need to be potted up. That's on my to do list, maybe today.

I didn't want them to grow too much through fall and winter. I wanted them a manageable size for my little lighted shelves. I've only been lighting them 13 hrs/day. After potting up I'll try to water better, feed them, and increase lighting hours so they can put on a little size, then do a round of cuttings.

I need to be a better Mom. Whistling

Thats the lot. DD has quite a few and when they went totally lankie I took some cuttings. She isnt as vigilant as I am about pinching so I didnt want to see what there would be in May from her crop. Now I have a tended crop of my own.In spite of those I have a big order in with RD.

That's good. You will have a few big healthy starts. Plenty of time for a few more cuttings before spring, too. Smiling

I have one NOID that's trying to flower.

I potted up my coleus today. There are 31 of them. Some were pretty pathetic looking but they do look a little better and fresher in their bigger pots. All were root bound in the yogurt cups they've been living in since early fall, and all were over-dry again. Hopefully they'll be happier in their new homes and be able to stretch their legs (feet?) a little with more and newer soil available.

It took me forever to just get started. I couldn't find what I needed. I'm just not in garden mode now. Everything has been "put away" for winter and I can't find it.

Onewish!! You are right NO CO-OP from Rosey Dawn this year. They are trying to keep shipping costs the same as last year.
