Those green throats are quite the rage! Very lovely, Steve.

polymerous - School supplies are in the stores now. Guess what idea I came up with? I found a white clipboard that looks like it could double as a whiteboard. I can clip a whiteboard marker and a ziplock Baggie of paper clips to it, and a tissue (to use as an eraser) to bring outside with my camera. I can write down info on the clipboard, take a photo for my records, and download it to my computer into the specific file folder for the cultivar or seedling. It sure beats a piece of paper that gets dirty and wet outside. I can also input the info to a paper record (while sitting at my desk inside in the A/C) by reading the photo off my monitor screen. I decided to add a small tape measure inside the Baggie with the paper clips so that I have it when I need to measure the bloom or scape. All attached to clipboard. The clipboard was less than $3.00 at Wally World. nodding

I love the name Pucker Up...it reminds me of an old Mary Chapin Carpenter song called "Shut Up and Kiss Me", which I also think would be an interesting name Smiling

Regina I love the name "Shut Up and Kiss Me" for a daylily . Other song titles that would make good dayliliy names I think would be: Walk the line, Coat of many colors, Foggy Mountain Breakdown, Walk in the light, The Motions, Come As You Are, Glory Defined, Roxanne , American Woman, Empire State of Mind, I Gotta Feeling, Physical, and Pop Style to name a few. But still I love the name "Shut Up and Kiss Me" most Lovey dubby

Wonderful seedlings everyone. Steve I just love that White Satin one and Cindy your Lighthouse Divine is indeed divine!

Steve, I like your near-white, but today's purple with watermark, gorgeous! Lovey dubby

Kid, love your pale lavenders.

Going a bit off-topic here (not about seedlings, but does have some relevance, wrt toting around marking and measuring equipment and the like)...

Becky, I kind of think I understand what you mean, but pics! We want pics! (I think I'll probably stick with my little notebook, though. It's on the table, it doesn't get muddy or dirty, and the pages can't go flying loose, unlike your kleenex "eraser".)

But speaking of upgrading and new approaches, I am having to change how I carry around a few tools and the paper clips.

Years ago, my sister gave me a 3-pocket fabric tote thing for garden stuff. I used it for a while, for the tape measure, yarn, string, scissors, twist ties, miscellaneous stuff, but never really cared for it. (The pockets sagged in on themselves which I found really annoying, and what to do if it got *really* dirty...)

For the past several years I have just left my hand pruners (pretty much used daily) out on the table (in dry weather - and we have mostly had dry weather), and I left my paper clips on a bench in the garden shed. I prop the door open during the day when I am working outside, so it was easy to just step in there and grab the clips as I worked with each pollen parent. Well, the rats got into the shed last year, so after tossing those clips out, I don't want to risk a repeat. (We did find and caulk a hole.) So the paper clips had to go into the house

So this year, I've been carrying a flat cardboard tray (the kind that holds 12 cans of food or bottles of iced tea) out to the patio table each day. It is lightweight and just big enough to hold the notebook/pen, some cups of paper clips, a ruler (easier to measure bloom sizes with than the measuring tape), and the measuring tape. That worked well, until the table got wet (due to filling up a watering can so I could liquid fertilize some things).

So this weekend I went surfing on Amazon and found a (hard, easily cleanable, disinfectable) plastic shower caddy with some compartments which look to be the right size, in which I can put the hand pruners, wire cutters (I am working on some fencing panels), notebook/pen, ruler/measuring tape, rose gauntlets (the only kind of non-disposable glove I use in the garden), paper clips and tags, and maybe other miscellaneous things in. (What about trowels, you ask? I have several of those, which I just leave stuck in the dirt or raised beds in strategic locations... Whistling ) I am hoping that I will be right about the size/suitability of this caddy (and the compartments), and that it will work out well. I'll find out later this week, I guess.

Now back to your regularly scheduling seedling parade. nodding

I found this lovely thing at my Community Garden seedling bed during my lunch hour today. I could see it from 20 feet away, before I even got out of my car.

I think it's yummy! (that's part of the "rock" vase at the lower left, it almost looks like part of the flower)

@ steve todd, would like to ask your opinion of Hanson's There's A Place, see you are using it to hybridize. I want to know how it is as a garden plant, and what kind of bud count do you get? That is a beautiful seedling you have from it.

Today I collected the seed pod of this cross:
