Thanks Becky, I was amazed at the saturation of color and the black cherry eye and edging. Yes it is the very first bloom on that seedling. Not sure on the stats but it is about 26 inches tall and the blooms are close 6 inches. Top branched..no side branching with about 15 buds.
Pretty new at this, here are a few in their second year of blooming. The cross was a seedling x Jennifer's Jubilee and the reverse.
Last year we got a puppy who ripped through several seedling beds, tags strewn all overland seedlings dug up in heaps of dug dirt..... so I have no idea what cross this is from, but it is a miracle it survived at all.
The spidery one I have had for 5 years or so. It reblooms in late September and its color is darkened with cooler weather.
Avedon - Ooooh! I like those 2 parents. I hope those two seeds germinate, grow, and thrive producing some really pretty and unique blooms! Good luck sowing and growing them!
Tracey - Nice seedlings! I like the toothy ones, too!

My daylily project is to grown a seedling to name after my dad. I may have mentioned that last year in here. It is his favorite plant, what better way to honor someone?
Tracey I see you also grow lily seedlings if you want to try some of my daylily crosses to add genetics in your breeding goals I'd love to swap some seeds with you in a few months. I had bad luck setting pods on my lilies but did well on daylilies especially my crosses with teeth. Tree mail me if you are interested..

Becky and Daniel, this is a first time deal for both these two daylilies. The only success I had with Orange Spice as pod or pollen parent was the cross you have seen. I have never used "Sundown Ripples" as a pollen parent.
Now the cross of Katherine Caldwell as pod parent and Dragonfly Dawn as pollen parent produced eight seeds which were immediately planted a couple of weeks ago. There are now six sprouted, which really surprises me. I just hope they can keep on going.
