Oh, phooey, summer's gone.

Yesterday was 84, today was 81.. all this week is 80s.. sounds like summer still to me! of course, that's why I spent 2 hours spreading more mulch around making sur ethat everyone's covered....

The summer weather may still be here, but the exciting summer atmosphere is gone. I really hate winter and now it's on the way.

And who is that pretty bloom? Autumn?

Well, I see the impeachment hearing was called off. Good.
29 days until we change the clocks again...that's when I enter my "dark place" until spring.

I hate DLS... messes up my internal clock for weeks! Just as I'm finally settled in, they go & change it back! GRR!!!

I love daylight saving time. I never change my clocks all year. Some of them will change automatically, like the one on the computer, but the rest will stay on DST. Then when I look at my kitchen clock in November and think I'm late for something, I remember that the clock is an hour behind and I feel like I've given myself the wonderful gift of an entire hour. Sounds silly, I know, but it doesn't take much to make me feel happy.

I'm not fond of DST at all I get up in the dark and I come home from work in the dark plus I work in a block building so I rarly see any sun light talk about feeling like a mushroom and now its Venison season

Rant away...it's good therapy. Remember: Misery loves company.

I like Daylight Savings. I expect to get up in the dark anyway, and it means that there is more daylight at the end of the day. I just wish they (whoever they are) would quit making us change back and forth!

Going back to an earlier topic, the blasted Arum, here's a poor rose sticking its head up out of the Arum to bloom. Poor thing. I pulled some of the Arum away so that it could be visible.



The rose is Brasilia, by the way.

It does make a nice 'frame' for the pretty bloom!

Zuzu: That is so pretty, and I agree, the Arum makes a nice frame for that bloom! I had a Bicolor Rose that was taken over by wild morning glory in my backyard and unfortunately the morning glory won, the rose was completely choked out It was so pretty too *sniff*.

That's really pretty, Lin. Do you know the name? It looks almost like a Camellia.

Zuzu, When I bought it the tag just said Bicolor Rose so I guess it's just a generic hybrid. LOL, I know nothing about Roses. I bought this cheap at Wal-Mart a couple of years ago out of curiosity to see what color it would be when it bloomed ... and I loved the colors and the fragrance. I wonder what your rose is. It's so pretty. How dare they tell you "Bicolor" and nothing else?! Are the three latest photos of the same rose as the earlier one?

Looks like Citrus Splash to me.

It looks like it, but it's hard to believe Wal-Mart would have had a 2007 J&P rose.

Zuzu - Why not? I got mine from Costco and a coworker got Oranges & lemons from Walmart in '08.
