What little we saw of Utah when we drove through a little bit was stunning. Vernal was amazing with all the petunia hanging baskets everywhere in town. And it smelled so good.

On a totally non-garden subject, this is a picture of the inside of my 900 Lb, 100 year old piano. What a piece of artwork! Hope it's okay to post it here...

Oh, very yes! Everything intact! And the overtones, oh my! Such beautiful sounds.

It was being tuned on that day. Here's the extraordinary tuner at work:

Beautiful, Anna. Not many people have real pianos these days. It's mostly keyboards.

I bought a pre-owned Yamaha P22 2 years ago. I sold my digital...........the reason being our church got a decent piano, same brand, and after playing that I realized I needed to move on and get an accoustic piano. But, we spend almost 6 months in Texas, and after we bought our place in the RV park we stay I knew I had to have SOMETHING to play. I bought a Yamaha digital 515 that stays down there. I LOVE my P22.

The digital I sold was a Kurzweil. They are no longer made and have not offered support for them for a few years anyway. I knew I'd better get out from under it before it did a croaker and was able to sell it. I advertised it for $350. A high school kid bought it; he played trombone in the school band, played guitar, and wanted a piano. I gave him $50 back and told him I wanted to encourage a kid that was that into music.

This isn't the one I bought, this is a new one at the music store but mine is the same thing. Just "gently played". :>)

The music store where I bought mine had quite a few on the showroom floor. And many had signs on them that said "play me". Well, dogies.........when I saw that Play Me sign on the $90,000.00 Yamaha concert grand, you better believe I sat on that bench. Gads, it even made ME sound good, and I'm mediocre at best. Whistling

LOL. Over here, people are giving pianos away. I got mine for free. But I had to get a special piano mover to get it home. Now, THAT cost a pretty penny!

I had to get a mover to bring mine. My cousin owns a moving business, and he's moved gazillions of pianos. I don't remember what he charged me, but i wasn't going to take our truck up and have them dolly it in the truck box. Rolling on the floor laughing He didn't do it for free, and I didn't expect him to.

Re: the $90K concert grand............Yamaha loaned it to a music professor at the University of Wisconsin. It must have been for a certain amount of time since the store had it on the showroom floor. The salesman told me that it probably wouldn't get sold and would go back to the company. I told him that tho it was a beautiful instrument and sounded amazing, unless you had the right "room" (concert hall) in your home, you were wasting your money. He agreed. It was sure fun sitting there and playing it tho.

Something completely different, but here's my 10 foot gumbo limbo tree that I grew from a cutting. Took almost 6 months.

Still, 10 feet in 6 months? That's pretty substantial!
