Thank You! for the websites! I'll definitely check them out! I'm also looking for plants, other than daylilies, with spiritual names. I have some Lady's Mantle and found out that also has biblical connotations so I will move them over when I have a little more shaded spots, although they seem to be thriving in the sunny area I have them in now. Funny how I always seem to make time for the flower gardens - the inside of the house should look so good in the summer! Whistling Whistling Whistling If I stay on this website I could just create more flower gardens! I'm not sure if having all this extra room is a good thing or a bad thing!! So Mike - now that you have totally "broke my bank" with your suggestions Blinking Blinking Blinking Whistling Whistling Whistling I found 2 I wanted from Springwood Gardens, 9 from DancingDayLily in Georgia, and 4 from Keastdaylilygardens right here in Iowa, all with spiritual names EXCEPT the one for my son-in-law who is a diehard Bengals fan and I found "Who Dey!" at Keast!!! Gifting that one to him to plant in his yard Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Other than the shipping costs, the prices of the lilies are all pretty reasonable. DancingDayLily in Georgia had great shipping prices and 2 I ordered were $15 and the others were $10. Keast were $6 to $8 except for the Who Dey! - that one cost me $25 but he's worth it! Bell's Daylily Garden had some awesome ones, but the prices were higher than I could do, especially combined with their shipping prices. My husband knows I have my planting "slush fund" Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing I tried to balance color, time of bloom, and height when I decided my final orders, and had to cut some because of price, but I think that, between the other perennials and lilies, I'm going to love this new garden! Ginny, have you looked at Iris? For example (by accident, not design), I have Abbey Chant (sort of spiritual Big Grin ), Casting Crowns, Heaven's Bounty, Heaven's Edge, Heaven's Reply, Infinite Grace, Sing Praises, and Waters of Miraba. Happy to share with you for postage reimbursement if you want to consider any of these. But check the Iris database, there should be many-many to suit.

Some photographs.

I also have Stairway to Heaven, but since the hybridizer names his Iris after rock and roll songs, I am not sure it would fit. Hilarious!

Thank you, Vickie. In addition to having a beautiful flower, it is also a tough and prolific plant. Smiling

I just found pictures this weekend from the yard I moved FROM and had input them, hit the wrong button, and lost them all Grumbling Grumbling Grumbling So here I go again!! In 1997 when my husband and I got married there was a small weedy veggie garden, some boring plants in the front, and virtually nothing else except trees. I had a local landscaper give me the basic plan, then I went from there. These pictures were taken in 2009 when I was on a local garden tour and the reason I said "you have to be kidding me" when my husband said he wanted to move Crying :

I would like to be able to re-create some of the vignettes in my new yard, but going from shade to sun makes it difficult. I guess in the old yard I created my own shade over the year! Anyway, starting over has been another challenge!

I also found the beginning of my front entrance for the new home from 2011. It was originally all river rock and I moved a bunch of it to the back and moved the rest elsewhere, put in a curved border, and added mulch to the front. And of course my granddaughter helped! I really like the contrast. The first picture is 2011 and the 2nd picture is 2016 in each set:

Lovely gardens you have Ginny. My only issue is there is not enough lilium in them. Rolling on the floor laughing I see all those gardens and think of all the lilies I could have and work with. Especially the sloped sites you have! In case you couldn't tell I love lilies. My wife wants to send me to lilies anonymous. Lol

But that's a lot of work you have done and it looks great. Love the colors and variety.

Ooohhh. OTs and trumpets have become my favorite. But can't deny the colors and hardiness of the asiatics. They will grow anywhere. Almost fool proof. What varieties did you order?
