Love your seating arbor and the garden bed looks wonderful. That slope with all the plantings is going to really look nice once it fills in and everything starts blooming. It must be wonderful to have so much land you can add garden areas here and there! Thumbs up Lovey dubby

So far so good. This year has been harder because of the new areas I started. I need to be better at pruning bushes which is my least favorite job. Crying Crying

For at least ten years I worked at adding garden areas to my garden. But really never thought about getting old. Now it is all I can do to take care of it. Simply too much.

Already took out some of the flower beds to put back to veggie growing areas. This fall plan to slowly start making two garden area narrower and the grass path wider. It will make less work in the two side by side garden beds.

I am planning ahead. I want to be less over whelmed with work while still maintaining the overall look of the gardens here.

I'm thinking if I add the veggie garden next year and just add plants to the existing beds to fill them and don't create new ones I should be good. And then these ideas pop into my head and well, you know the result - another new area Whistling Whistling Whistling nodding

Ginny - I am guilty of doing the same thing. My residential yard is a jungle. I can maintain it currently though I am not getting any younger either. But I keep adding more garden areas. I guess I will finally stop when I have no more room to add any more. D'Oh! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Terri - I love to go look at other's gardens so when I see someone has been on this thread, I click on their name and peak at their gardens if they have shared them. I didn't just peak, I absolutely drooled Drooling Drooling Drooling Drooling at your gardens and area. I love the timber and the Spring wildflowers and just everything about the pictures you posted and the garden tour link! I really love the bird bath in your turtle garden. Lovey dubby Lovey dubby When we moved to the country I totally anticipated having walking paths and shady spots in the timber, but there is so much poison ivy I am scared to death to even start! I have gotten poison ivy so often since we moved I won't even hunt mushrooms anymore Crying Crying Crying The first year, before I knew what we had, I found right where a Dutchman's Breeches was blooming and intended to go back. Then I got the poison ivy and that was the end of that. Anyway - your gardens and timber are quite lovely Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

Ginny that brought a smile. I don't think anyone has looked at my blog garden tour link in years, so I am glad you found it Smiling I hope to be more active with my NGA blog and probably starting my own thread here in the Garden Photos forum next season. I have been juggling a full time job and a horrendous commute to DC for 34 years, which usually only leaves the weekends for gardening pursuits. I'm actually retiring at the end of February and am absolutely ecstatic with anticipation of the amount of time I will have to garden.

NGA is great for finding and getting to know fellow garden enthusiasts. I look forward to seeing more of your gardens and your posts!

Forgot to mention that even with all the woods there is barely any poison ivy here. I sure don't envy you that particular issue.

Seeing your gardens, I can't wait until I am in the country. Hopefully only 6-8 more years. We love in town now and with 3 kids, it is convenient. But I can't wait. Of course, being the lily addict I am, it will probably be more lilies than anything else. Rolling on the floor laughing

But your gardens are lovely.
