The Evergreens I have that do great for me are: Joan Senior, Voila Francois(excellent!!!!), The Band Played On, Get Jiggy (I think there is some discussions about whether this is really an E or D), Destined to See, Shipwreck Cove, Symphony of Praise, Merlin the Magician, Boundless Beauty, and Abilene Lilian - these are all daylilies I would call excellent, have survived at least 2 winters and have had many blooms for me. I have other Evergreens that made it through the winter, and have not died, but have not seen them bloom yet and they are not doing great so far. I have begun to notice that these hybridizers have great plants and are the ones I look for: Salter, Gossard, Reed, Polston, Stamile, Cochenour, and Hanson. I also noticed that some from certain sellers all died so I take note of those and don't buy from them again.
Have a Happy Daylily Day!!

Beautiful blooms everyone! So nice to see blooms this late into the year!

Interesting too how some daylilies fair better in certain conditions as well - thankfully we don't have the really cold winters so that isn't an issue here. Who was the hybridizer on Picasso's Intrigue? Definitely a beautiful bloom!

It was a nice 65 here this morning and is only mid 70s in the middle of the day! NICE!! Wish I was home working in the yard............ but, since I was gone out of state on Friday - Monday, I have to be here working today..... Sighing!

Mike - Free Wheelin has never done well for me. It must need a different spot in the garden. I've been saying I'm going to move it for the past three years. I need to do it this week while it's cool but not cold.

I have Free Wheelin, it is a nice size clump now. It is not one to add a lot of fans per year but it looks awesome in a clump! I think Hold Your Horses is very close and it does better for me. I am zone 6.

Free Wheelin did extremely well the first 2 years I have had it but it has declined in its performance the last 2 years.

My Free Wheelin has yet to bloom. If it does nothing next year it is out of here! Been here since 2012. Angry

Teresa - Hold Your Horses does better here than Free Wheelin. Although it took a couple of years to really take off.

Still reblooming here are 'One Fine Day', 'Newberry White Dove', 'Nancy Billingslea', and 'Winning Note'. 'Egyptian Queen' has some rebloom scapes up, but no blooms today.

One new rebloom scape is coming up on each of 'Burmese Buddha', 'Because of You', and 'Coming Up Roses' (which is in a pot and I was sure it was done).

Today I finally got a picture of a (re)bloom on 'Clockwork', which is also sitting in a pot. The picture was taken in late afternoon shade. (Yes, I did some Photoshopping to correct for the darkness. Whistling )

Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

I love Free Wheelin' but I have heard from many that it prefers it very hot. Someone in FL said it does its best when it is very hot outside even for her so I guess I will see how it does after this winter. I bought Wild Horses this summer so maybe it can be a replacement if FW does not make it.

Oooh a poly on Free Wheelin' - love it! I had many polys this year-mainly on Destined to See - I was told by another seller they had a lot also.
