That was truly the last flower for 2016. Gotta move it to a better location. Under a large evergreen somewhat.

I actually find you lucky in the 90s, Gen! We're steady in the 80s here, but forecast says we'll be steady in the 70s in about 10 days. Not all of Texas is hot, hot, hot!

Well we are supposed to be mid 80s by now, but just haven't gotten a break from the heat yet. They currently say "MAYBE" next week............

Of course you are both correct. I just listed what is growing wild here now and it is lovely. This Chamisa is growing right at the end of one of our daylily beds. It is about six feet wide.

Then, to top it off, here is a FFO, five days after our average date of first frost on a scape I had no hope for with our evening lows below fifty for the past couple of weeks.

AFTER AWHILE CROCODILE

Thumb of 2016-09-21/Charlemagne/00242d

The cosmos don't really go, next year we will plant sulphur cosmos there. We plant cosmos because it blooms a long time, it is showy, and it self-sows.

That After While Crocodile was determined - beautiful bloom! I am shocked that you still have that much blooming with the low temps............... it was 63 this morning on my way to work and felt WONDERFUL! Smiling But, it has once again climbed into the 90s - although it is only 92 at the moment so better than it has been!

That Shores of Time is lovely too! Nice rebloom !

Got my order from Maryotts in and got them planted yesterday...............now if I can just keep the gophers away!! Does ANYONE know how to eliminate them for good short of bombing my yard?? (and I think they might even survive that).... I had never ordered from them before and I had been wanting to for a few years so since they are closing, I ordered just a few to say I had. *Blush*

Enjoyed seeing the images of the chamisa and cosmos. Can't believe the gorgeous blooms everyone's posting, what an awesome late season for the daylilies this year.

I was hoping to post an image of Carnal Emporium...it has opened but with low temps in the 40's most of last week wasn't photo worthy. Crossing Fingers! it opens well tomorrow.

Still blooming here on rebloom scapes...
